Ipsy & Glossybox | The All-Stars

It's no secret around here that I love my monthly beauty subscription services. I currently receive 2- Ipsy & Glossybox. I tried Birchbox in the beginning but wasn't really a fan. This is the 3rd year I've been an Ipsy subscriber ($10 a month) and I'm still loving it. I've been a Glossybox subscriber ($21 a month) since last summer, it's such a glamorous box. I'm a beauty product junkie, I can never have enough and I love trying new things.

What I love most about subscription services?
-It's so fun to get a package full of beauty goodies each month
-It allows me to try things I probably wouldn't buy or experience otherwise. Glossybox is notorious for sending super high end & luxurious skincare & fragrance items.
-I haven't had to buy moisturizer, face wash, hair creams, lip products, primers or perfumes in so long. I get stocked of on these goodies and just get to try out a bunch of different kinds. For the most part, it kind of keeps me out of Sephora!

Here are the 6 products I picked out that I absolutely adore, products that I'm so thankful I was introduced to from one of these services.

This perfume is amazing! I'm probably the worst person in the world at trying to describe smells, but trust me, it's heavenly. It's so romantic and feminine, but not overpowering.

Via: Ipsy
I got a little sample of this from Ipsy way back when I first subscribed. I loved it so much and bought the full size one after my sample ran out. I featured it in my Only Pick 1: Face Edition as my holy grail highlighter last year.

Via: Glossybox
I use this after every single time I wash my hair. I spray it in before I comb out my hair and it detangles, softens, adds shine and protects my hair. It smells great too, it's a keeper!

Via: Ipsy
Another fabulous primer that smooths out my skin and helps with my big pores. Still working on my deluxe sample, but will be purchasing. I love Dr. Brandt products, anyone else?

Via: Both
I actually received one of these from Ipsy, fell in love, then received another from Glossybox several months later. SCORE! This balm doesn't really have much of a scent to me, but it's like a lip gloss and it's so super hydrating. I will put this on at night and I kid you not, I still have some left on my lips in the morning.

I shared this in my Jan faves post. It was my first experience with a Bumble and Bumble product and now I get it. I put this on right before I blow dry my hair. I'm telling you, the Proganix spray and this stuff have been my favorite duo for hair care recently. Are both needed? No, they have some similar qualities but I like them each for different reasons and they work very well for me paired together.

I know there are so many other products that I've received and loved, I'm sure I'm even missing a few top ones, but these 6 are some pretty fantastic beauty loves of mine.

Have you tried any of these products I mentioned?
Have any beauty services got YOU hooked on anything?

Feb 2015 Ipsy | #ipsylove

*purchased by me, affiliate links included.

Well I hope everyone is staying warm… We got our first snow in Oklahoma yesterday, but I can't complain. Only a few inches and nothing compared to my east coast friends. Thinking of you all! I was off work yesterday for President's Day, so it was nice to enjoy the snow from home this go around.

Over the weekend I received my Feb Ipsy bag. The theme this month is #ipsylove and all of the pink sure made this girly girl happy. Here's what I got this month-

Ipsy Bag

Rob Scheppy for Tini Beauty Pearl Eyeshadow in Pearl Fizz - Deluxe sample, from palette

ModelCo Blush in Peach Bellini - Full Size $22
Boo, it broke :(

Demeter Roll On Perfume Oil in First Love - Full size $10

Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil - Deluxe Sample, 1/2 full size product

City Color Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini - Full Size $4.99
This product reminds me of the NYX Matte Lip Creams, which I love. My kind of color too.

Ipsy

Extra Product from Ipsy Points - Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Rose Berry
I received one of these in an Ipsy bag a long time ago and really liked it, so when I saw it was one of their current bonus items I went for it. Perfect cute little purse lotion.

You know I'm a fan of Ipsy, can't beat the $10 a month price for a bag full of goodies. Check them out here is you're interested, or ask me if you have any questions!

Thursday I'll be sharing a few products I've fallen in love with over the years thanks to my monthly subscription beauty boxes, stay tuned.

Which product would you most be interested in from this bag?

The Positivity Project | Love Yourself.

Late last year, Amanda came up with this idea called Positivity Project, answering 4 questions sharing some positive thoughts about yourself. Women often tend to be hard on themselves more than anything, quick to point out the negative things over the positive. I thought this was a wonderful idea. A reason to praise ourselves, because by golly we need to love our beautiful selves! I've been meaning to do this post for a while, but I'm just now getting to it. So here we go...

Meet @ the Barre

1. Tell me something you love about yourself.
Ironic but I love my positive attitude in life. It really takes a lot to get me down or feeling negative. I'm someone who just feels beyond blessed to be breathing and living a wonderful life each and everyday. I never focus on anything negative, period. YOU run your life, if you aren't happy with something than you have to fix it. I believe a good attitude & a smile can really go a long way.

2. Tell me what you want to work on.
Well tying back to my last answer, sometimes this can also be an issue for me. I'm working on compassion this year. Sometimes I have zero tolerance for people, the negative Nancy's if you will, in certain situations and I need to be more considerate and compassionate at times.

3. Give someone a compliment and mean it.
Karly, you ROCK! She and I have followed each other from the beginning and I just love her! She's genuine & sweet, gorgeous, her blog is amazing, she's hard working and it shows, an awesome beauty & fashion blogger and she's a fellow dog mom, we get each other. If you aren't familiar with Karly, go pay her blog Miss in the Midwest a visit. You'll fall in love too, promise.

4. Tell me something that you are proud of, succeeded in or are just generally pumped about.
My lifestyle change is 1 thing in my life I'm very proud of. A few years ago I was overweight and decided to make a change. After years of trying all the wrong things, I made a permanent lifestyle change of healthier eating habits and being active, and now 45 lbs lighter I'm a fitness addict and couldn't be happier. I truly enjoy all things fitness related, can't get enough Pure Barre and weightlifting and I love to inspire & cheer on other women. You CAN do it :)

Welp, that was a little weird but you know what? We all deserve to pat ourselves on the back sometimes. So get to thinking ladies, let's sprinkle this positive dust all over the place!

Tell me what you love about yourself?

Rock Your Valentine's Red Lip with Kaplan MD Perfect Pout.

*Product supplied for review purposes, all thoughts and opinion are my own.

Red lip

Alright ladies, Valentine's day is 4 days away and what better time is there to bust out the red lipstick? If it's date night with your love or girls night with your besties, glam it up and rock those red lips with confidence.

However, if you're anything like me you need some major help before hand. This winter has been brutal on my lips! Chapped & flaky + red lipstick = nightmare. Let's fix this before we glam our lips up, shall we?

Red lip

Kaplan MD sent me this product and I have been loving this little duo. I was excited when I found out I got to try this because I actually remembered reading about it on this The Beauty Department blog post all about chapped lips.

This duo is gluten, sulfate, paraben and petroleum free and it was created as a natural way to instantly plump your lips, hydrate them and smooth fine lines.

The Perfect Pout Lip Mask + Lip Balm Duo set is more than your typical dry lip healing product. First off, I LOVE the tingle. I'm a big fan of the Buxom tingle (know what I mean?) so this is something I like. These 2 products exfoliate, tighten, plump, hydrate and protect your lips with SPF 20. Sounds like a winner, right?

And now I'm ready to go!

My current red lip must haves?
Maybelline  Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Divine Wine
Cailyn Tinted Lip Gloss in Love Affair
No Bleeding Lips liner reviewed here

Kaplan MD is now available at Sephora too! This little duo is only $23.oo, I feel like that is a great affordable price for this luxurious product.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, don't forget to enter the giveaway for the $150 Victoria's Secret gift card! 2 days left, you can enter here.

A Sweet Treat + A Sweet Lil Valentines Giveaway.

If you've been a reader for a while, you know I have a sweet tooth. I wish sweets weren't my thing, but they are. I've decided to accept it, but try to find some healthier modifications. I splurge but I try to keep a good balance.

Enter Pinterest and the endless supply of awesome ideas. That is where I first started seeing the healthier frozen yogurt options and created this one. I've made it twice now and it definitely satisfies my craving. Now, if you don't like banana, don't bother. The base is banana so you can taste it for sure. You can use whichever ingredients you'd like, mix it up. Below is what I've used.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt

Ingredients:
3-4 servings

2 frozen bananas
5.3 oz Chobani Greek Yogurt (whatever flavor you'd like)
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup PB2 Powder (or regular peanut butter)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup chocolate chips

Add the bananas, yogurt, almond milk & vanilla in a blender and blend until creamy. Add in your cocoa and PB2 powder. Pour mixture into a bowl and stir in the chocolate chips. Freeze for several hours. *fyi, this stuff hardcore freezes so when you're ready to eat it, prepare to let it sit out for a little bit first.

And now because I love you, I love Valentine's and I love Victoria's Secret... My friends and I are bringing you this fun little giveaway!

Make Me Up Mia

Some random faves..

So, I quit drinking coffee and it was not planned. I did a 14 day Teatox last month and after it was over I had a personal goal to cut way back on creamer. I'm the person that would drink creamer with a side of coffee. Drinking all that creamer daily was not healthy for me and I really wanted to stop. I was a coffee addict and never liked hot tea. 1 month into 2015 and I'm now a hot tea addict and I'm not missing coffee, CRAZY huh... I drink 2 cups of hot green tea a day, 1 when I wake up and 1 in the afternoon, and I'm loving it. This one is a current fave! I got it at Target and I'm just really enjoying it. I'm on my 2nd box now.

I've tried a ton, I keep going back to Suave. (Karly will back me up here...) It's cheap and it really does a great job. Not going to lie, the smell is a little strong so spray it and walk away for a sec, but I feel like it's a great & affordable pick.

This is from a recent Ipsy bag, I will be purchasing this when I run out. It's actually the first Bumble product I've used, I get it now ladies. You put it in your hair before you blow dry and it claims to repair your hair with each blow dry. I can't say if it's actually repairing my hair, but it sure makes it super soft & shiny, it just feels healthy.

That's a mouth full. I recently pulled this back out just to use it up, but I'd forgot how much I liked it. It's scary pink when you first apply it, but the color evens out perfectly on my skin. It doesn't crease on me and it brightens up my skin nicely. I apply it under my eyes, the sides of my nose and down the bridge of my nose a little.

Rachel Talbott
I'm a total YouTube beauty guru junkie, have been for years, and I've watched Rachel from the beginning. Her videos have been extra amazing lately, bright & airy, I just can't get enough. She is gorgeous, smart, creative and seems so genuine. She's a healthy lifestyle wife & mom who loves beauty and organizing anything & everything. I just love her! She has an awesome blog as well.

Unglued: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions

I read Lysa Terkeurst's book Unglued: Making Wise Choice in the Midst of Raw Emotions while on the planes to and from Florida last month. I really enjoyed it and I breezed right through it. I don't read a ton to be honest, but when I do it's usually self help books like this, I enjoy them the most. When I look back to 2014 I see a different person, I can totally see how I handled the emotions of Christian's accident all the wrong way. So I thought this book would be a good pick for me and it definitely did not disappoint. It focuses on so much regarding your emotions and how to handle them in different situations, and how to reflect Christ in these situations. It's full of sweet words of wisdom that slap you in the face, like...

Next up I'll be reading her book The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands. Whew, I think we can all relate to that title huh!

Taco Chili Recipe

Not much to say about this recipe besides it's easy and pretty darn tasty. I found it on Pinterest and we've made it twice recently. I top it with avocado chunks, a few tortilla chips and a dollop of Greek Yogurt. I love simple recipes and this one is just that. *side note- I've made it on the stove and in the crockpot, either way works and tastes the same.

Any of these things I mentioned a fave of yours too?
