Oh Stella, Be Mine.

Saturday night I'm hosting my first Stella & Dot party at my house, I've never even been to one before so I'm excited to see it all in person. It's going to be a fun girls night filled with pretty jewels, wine & cupcakes! What's even more exciting is that my sweet blogger turned real life friend Caroline from In Due Time will be putting it on for me. I can't wait to actually meet her after so long of chatting online.

Funny story- we became acquainted through our blogs, she lives in TX and I live in OK. After we began our email chats, we started to play connect the dots. She grew up in Tulsa, her brother lives in Owasso (where I live!) and I actually go to church with her brother & sister-in-law AND taught her niece in the 4 year olds room. Got pretty attached to her niece actually. Small world, eh? She's coming into town to visit her family this weekend, and now me too :)

So, today I'm sharing the pretty little Stella items I've been drooling over that will be mine after this weekend. My definite picks and a few others that I might make permanent residents of my jewelry box...

Stella & Dot
Renegade Cluster Bracelet || I've eyed this forever, come to mama.
Signature Engravable Bar Necklace || Yep, it will have 08.30.08 on it <3
Flora Chandeliers || Seriously, you can wear them 3 different ways and I love all 3!

Stella & Dot
Rebel Ring || Love the look of this ring!
Nancy Studs || Simple and oh so pretty.
Bianca Earrings || How fun are these? Another pair that can be worn multiple ways.

After I see it all in person, I could come out with completely different items. But for now, I'm in love with these shiny things.

I wish that ALL of you could come over to my house on Saturday night, share some wine and cupcakes with me while playing with all the pretty jewelry! Unfortunately there are tons of miles between us all (boo!), but if you've had your eye on anything you can still check out my party link online.

Own any Stella pieces, what's your favorite?

*Reminder- Our monthly faves link up is next Wednesday! Can't wait to see what you've been loving in the last month.

My Recent Florida Visit #prayformayberry

As most of you know, I just returned home from visiting my family & brother in Wauchula, FL where he's currently living at FINR, a traumatic brain injury rehabilitation center. They left Oklahoma in September and I hadn't seen them since. They aren't sure how long they will remain there, but more than likely another few months. I wanted to share a little update on Christian and some pictures from the trip. I also got to spend a little time with Dustin's cousin and her sweet family. They live in Tampa so they picked me up from the airport and took me out to Wauchula. It was so nice to see them!

There is definitely a lot of improvement that's been made, he's come a long way since September. When they left he was pretty much in the bed 24/7 and wasn't moving his left side at all. Now he moves his left arm and leg a lot, he's in therapy a few hours a day where he's standing, taking some steps and using a leg only exercise bike. He's in speech therapy an hour a day as well, she works with him on speech, eating and memory.

Christian is 95% of the time happy as can be. Talking up a storm, wanting mom to feed him and making people laugh. He struggles sometimes too though. It's heartbreaking to hear him say things like "I just want to die" "I'm in so much pain, you have no idea what it's like to have a TBI" "I can't do this anymore". It's hard, we quickly try to turn his mind around to all the positive. How far he's come, how many lives he's touched, the thousands of people that are following him and are always praying for him. He's a hero to so many people, but the poor kid is going through something nobody should have to. It's not easy, for him or my parents. However, he truly has come SO far and we know that God is nowhere near done with him yet. He's got a long way to go, but he is kicking butt. If you would, please continue to pray for Christian and my family, for strength as they continue on this journey.

Currently, Christian is:
-Obsessed with hamburgers & cheesecake. Asks for them all the time!
-Loves hugs & kisses and to hold your hand.
-Says "HOLY GUACAMOLE!" a lot.
-Loves to repeat the "Jake from State Farm at 3 o'clock in the morning" commercial word for word for anyone that will listen.
-Starts complaining of pain when it's time for therapy, just like a kid in school. We're on to you buddy…
-Loves to make you laugh anyway he can.
-Calls people hobo's, a lot.
-Always wants to hear Switchfoot and loves to praise Jesus for saving him, no matter where he is.

While I was there, we took a family outing to Sarasota and up the coast. We had lunch at a  little restaurant on the water called O'Leary's and walked around the water a bit. It was a gorgeous day and their first family outing since they'd been there.

Mom's posted a lot of videos of him in rehab lately on the Pray for Mayberry Facebook page, there is a video of his reaction when I got there as well. As always, thank you so much for following along and for your continued prayers & support. It means the world, you truly have no idea how much it gets my family through <3

The Body Shop | Wild Argan Oil Line

*Products provided for review purposes, all thoughts are my own.

Remember recently in my Dec Faves post where I shared my winter dry skin woes and how I've been especially loving The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Lotion? Well for the last month I've been testing this line out and learning more about it. Today, I'm sharing my thoughts on a few more of their products.

Bath Products

Raise your hand if you love The Body Shop? From their amazing line of products including their body butters that they are well known for to their values. They're upfront about their values being at the heart of everything they do- being against animal testing, supporting community fair trade, defending human rights and protecting the planet. In fact, the oil used in this line is pressed from Argan nuts hand cracked by Berber women in SW Morocco. I think this is pretty cool, what exactly does this mean?

The Supplier
We work with Targanine, a network of women’s cooperatives, because they help empower their 334 members with social and financial independence. Traditionally, the men of the family enjoyed higher social status as they earned the most money. Now these women are often the primary earners in the family, which has increased their social status.
The project provides them with a job, a good income, the ability to support their family with a stable income, and the kinship of working with other women. Some of the co-operatives even provide literacy classes for members and crèche facilities for their children.
The Community
Unlike much of the commercial argan oil industry in Morocco, our trade supports rural agricultural communities rather than using large factories in the cities. This means that our trade with Targanine co-operatives allows women in rural villages to earn an income without having to leave their local communities.

A few months ago, I was online making a purchase for a couple body butters and almost bought one of the Wild Argan Oil ones but decided not to without smelling it first because I wasn't sure if I'd like the smell. Turns out I love it! It's a mild scent, perfect really. Not too strong but not too mild, a clean scent. I love that you can layer this with other scents and it not be too strong. I also love that because it's infused with argan oil it's super hydrating & nourishing but it's not greasy whatsoever.

Here's a closer look at the 4 products I was fortunate enough to try out recently -

Bath Products

Wild Argan Oil Body Lotion - $12
Well, you already know I am a fan of this. I take my showers at night and slather in lotion afterwards. The fact that this sinks into my skin and isn't greasy is awesome because well, who wants to crawl into bed a big grease monster?

Bath Products

Wild Argan Oil Bubbling Bath - $12
I took 2 nice bubble baths with this stuff. Honestly, it didn't provide a ton of bubbles but that didn't really bother me. If you want a tub full of bubbles, you probably won't get it from this. What I liked most about it is the aroma it gives the bathroom.

Bath Products

Wild Argan Oil Rough Scrub - $20
DON'T let the name scare you, it's just the right amount of scrub without drying you out. I am a sucker for body scrubs, I exfoliate 1-2 times a week in the shower. I will be purchasing this for sure.

Bath Products

Wild Argan Oil Shower Gel - $8
Another WIN. Lathers nicely, leaves my skin soft and moisturized and the smell lingers perfectly. Using this shower gel followed by the lotion, can't get enough!

So, if I had to pick 1 and ditch 1 what would my picks be?
Pick- the Body Lotion has quickly become my most reached for lotion.
Ditch - I like the Bubbling Bath, but if I had to pick 1 to go without it'd be that one simply because I'm just enjoying the other 3 a little bit more.

2 other products that caught my eye that I will definitely be trying next? My lips need help!

Are you a fan of The Body Shop products?
How often do you exfoliate?

Jan 2015 Ipsy | Fresh Start + A Delicious Giveaway!

*Purchased by me, referral links included

This is my 3rd year to be an Ipsy member, still loving it in case you're wondering. This months theme was Fresh Start, fitting for the new year huh. Fyi, I had to redo the image after first saving it saying 2014. Anyone else having issues adjusting to writing 2015 now?

Jan 2015

What did I receive this month?

I love Juice Beauty products and love stuff like this for when I'm traveling. This came just in time for my FL trip. The full size of this is $65, great product to get to try!

Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush, full size $9.99 value
Loving this so far, isn't it cute?

Hikari Cosmetics Eye Liner in Storm, full size $13.00 value
Excited to try this out!

Honestly, I probably won't use this. I don't typically go for blues or greens.

I'm a fan of Pacifica products, thanks to Ipsy. This shadow is so soft and smooth, and because it's infused with coconut water they are rich, velvety and creaseless. This makes a great highlight shade too.

It's Been a While, 5 Things.

It's been a while since I've done any Friday link ups and today I felt like sharing some things from my week. It's going to be a good day here in Oklahoma, the sun is actually shining and the temps will be near 60 today and over the weekend. I know it's just a weather tease, but it's a nice little break from the frigid temps. Lucky me, I get to escape to FL for a few days though... More on that below. Hope you've had a great week and cheers to weekend!

Sunday morning I'm flying to FL to spend part of the week with my family! I haven't seen them since they left Oklahoma in September for Christian's TBI rehab, so I'm eager to see them and where they are currently staying. Follow me along on Insta if you'd like. I'll be doing a recap and update on Christian after I return.

I have been loving Pure Barre Tulsa the last month and a half and shared my thoughts on it yesterday. If you've been curious or thought about trying PB, don't miss it (here)!

Sunday we babysat our friends little boy and we sure enjoyed playing with him. He gave us some good laughs! I was a tiny bit bitter, they were going to the Garth Brooks concert that I'd tried for hours to get tickets to with no luck... I got over it though ;)

I'm finally trying out some oils! I've wanted to for so long, but I'd always get overwhelmed when I'd look into them. I got the doTerra Introductory Kit this week. So far I've been putting lemon in my water & hot tea and I've used the lavender on my pillow and my lips a few times. Any favorite uses for lemon, peppermint or lavender oils? I have a lot to learn!

Our lil Harley Boy is home with us. We got him over Christmas, but he wasn't quite old enough so we had to wait a couple more weeks. He came home Sunday, he's fluffy & precious. He's feisty, purrs at any touch and likes to snuggle at bedtime. Pixie & Harley are total twins. They wrestle and chase each other all over the house, just like we knew they would. #bestiesforlife

Any big plans this weekend?

Pure Barre Tulsa | I've Fallen in Love.

I've shared it here and there, but I've been doing Pure Barre since the first of December and without a doubt can say, I'm hooked. Today we're going to dig a little deeper into what it is, a look at one of the Tulsa locations, my thoughts and a few tips I've learned along the way. A few of my friends are making an appearance at the end and letting you know their thoughts of Pure Barre too! This will be a pretty long post, stick with me friends.

What is Pure Barre?
Pure Barre is a 55 minute full body workout class that targets the areas women struggle with most- arms, thighs, booty & abs. It's a fat burning but low impact workout that utilizes a ballet bar and focuses on making small isometric movements. The layout of each class will the be the same each time, but the actual workout will never be.

What equipment is needed, do they supply it?
All equipment is supplied there and the teacher will have the equipment at the front of the class to let you know what you'll need. The only thing that really ever varies are the tubes. At the end of each class they give you a wipe to clean off your equipment. Equipment you'll use includes: a small ball, light weights 2-5 lbs, tubes and a mat. (Funny story- At my 1st class the teacher was telling me what to get, she recommended 2 or 3 lbs weights. I asked if I should grab 5 lb weights just in case, she said probably not since it was my first time. I kind of thought to myself "I use 25 lb weights at the gym, I'm not sure about this." Um yeah, trust me on this.... You WILL feel it with those 2 or 3 lb weights!)

Tips for someone wanting to try?
-I'd recommend getting there 10-15 minutes before class. This way you can put your stuff away, use the restroom if needed, grab your equipment and find a spot. *first time you'll have to fill out a new client form, so maybe a little earlier.
-Bring water, you'll want to stay hydrated during your workout.
-Wear socks, sticky socks are recommended but not required. They do sell them in the store. You remove your shoes before you even walk into the classroom.
-Don't wear shorts, beyond that you can really wear whatever you'd like. I prefer, and I think most others do too, wearing fitted capris or leggings with a slim fit tank. Whatever you're most comfortable in while moving around.
-Don't get discouraged, it all takes time. You will get familiar with the terms, proper form and feel more comfortable after a few times going, I promise.
-Even though it kind of sucks in the moment, the shake/burn is a good thing! The whole point is to get your muscles to the point of fatigue then stretch them out while they're warm, this equals long and lean muscles. So when you hear them say "the shake is good, it means change" that is exactly what it means! Close your eyes and keep pushing yourself, it'll be over before you know it.
-Focus and really visualize while you're doing these movements. When they say tuck, really focus on that and envision tucking your belly button into your spine. When they say tiny 1 inch movements think of a paperclip and only move that tiny amount. This helped me a lot.

What have I loved most?
-The great core work. I've come a long way, but after losing 45 lbs I've struggled with toning and defining my stomach. The planking, isometric holds and crunches leave me knowing I've achieved a great core workout in each class. After just a month and a half, I can see a slight change here for sure!
-Confession, I can't touch my toes. I have no flexibility. I'm looking forward to change and progress here as well. You do some great stretching all throughout the class.
-I love the teachers. They are all so personable, positive and helpful! I truly can't say enough good things about them. I took classes with 4 different teachers and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Taking a new class by yourself can be a little intimidating, I always feel nothing but comfortable.

Dustin and I are still working out at our gym 3 nights a week. I really enjoy my usual gym workouts and weight training with my husband so that isn't going to stop. Plus, I have to prepare for this years Tough Mudder! I feel like doing Pure Barre along with my normal workout routine is the perfect balance for me because I am someone that really enjoys both styles of working out for different reasons.

*I was given 1 month of Pure Barre classes for free in exchange for my honest review. I have since fallen in love and purchased my own classes. Thank you Megan  & Katrina for providing me with this opportunity and giving me a new love for a truly awesome workout!

Healthy Eats | My Everyday Breakfast Smoothie

Random Mia fact - I have never been a big breakfast fan. I've always preferred a light breakfast like fruit, yogurt, small bowl of cereal, a piece of toast, etc. Dustin loves going out to breakfast, I hate it. I can't do greasy egg meals. We compromise, but I will only ever order a waffle or pancake. Weird?

This brings me to my favorite breakfast, what I drink pretty much every single morning. I love it! It's delicious and gives me a great boost to start my day. I make one everyday as I'm heading out the door to work and drink it on the way. Measurements and ingredients are all approximate because you can do it however you want with whatever you want. My stuff varies occasionally, you'll see below.

My Go-To Breakfast Smoothie

4-6 oz Green Juice (I usually use Odwalla or Suja)
4-6 oz Almond Milk
4 tablespoons Yogurt (I normally use Greek)
Handful of fresh or frozen berries
Half a banana, fresh or frozen
Tablespoon of Flax
Teaspoon of Chia seed

1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder on gym days
Handful of spinach if I have it on hand

Blend and enjoy!

I read this Food Babe article on store bought juice labels a while back, it was pretty interesting if you're curious on which ones are the best for you...

Do you like going out to breakfast?
