July Faves | Food Edition

Well friends, this is going to be the last Monthly Favorites post for Kelli and I. We aren't sure if it will pick back up, but for now we both have some things going on that are pulling us away from blogging a little. #life right? My blogging is going to be pretty sparse, just popping in here and there. We decided it would be best for this to be the last one for now. So join in with us one last time!

Clearly, I was all about the food this last month... What's new?!

+ The Van's Blueberry Walnut granola has quickly become my favorite. It's fresh & chewy, just sweet enough and the most delicious addition to a Greek yogurt + fresh fruit bowl.

+ You know me and my sweet treats. The Think Thin High Protein Chunky Peanut Butter bar and Luna Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein bars have been my jam.

+ If you haven't had the Al Fresco Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage, drop whatever you're doing now and run to the store. It's so so good! We used it in my Creamy Zucchini Skillet recipe and we both couldn't shut up about how delicious it was. Dustin asked if I put brown sugar in it, so sweet & yummy. Our local grocery store & Super Target carry it.

+ Recently Karly shared a link to this Light Crock Pot Fiesta Chicken & Rice Bowls recipe. We made it, it doesn't disappoint. It's super easy, simple & healthy. My kind of dish.

+ I shared my new found love for Oopsie bread on Instagram recently. My mother in law introduced me to it and Dustin and I are both loving it. I make a batch on the weekend to have throughout the week. It couldn't be any easier. Only a few ingredients, 1g carb per piece & gluten free. WIN!
Oopsie Bread
3 eggs, seperated
dash of salt
3 oz low fat cream cheese
1 tsp baking powder

Place egg whites in one bowl and yolks in another. Add the dash of salt to the egg whites and beat until very stiff. Add the cream cheese and baking powder in the egg yolks, beat until smooth. Slowly fold the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Spoon large spoonfuls onto 2 baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake at 300 for 25 minutes. Should make 6-8.

I store them in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator.
*Here is a great video example.

+ I've also been eating my PB&J Protein Cake for breakfast, a lot.... I mean, who doesn't want a massive bowl of cake for breakfast? And one you don't have to feel guilty about!

And now I'm hungry friends! What are you all up to this weekend? I'm heading to Dallas Friday morning with my friend Angela for the weekend. We'll be attending Success School for Advocare and I can't wait. I'm excited for a few days away with my friend, learning & soaking up all the information & the sights of Dallas.

What foods have you been hooked on recently?

  20. Trader Joes makes chicken sausage with apples in it and it is DIVINE! I have to buy two packs just for myself, Taylor and my husband and there is NEVER any leftovers. We just gobble it up. I cut it into slices so there is more surface area to caramelize. Yummo.

  21. I want to try that protein bar... peanut butter wins me over every time :)

  22. That chicken sausage is so good! I've used it mixed with veggies over rice as like a Jambalaya recipe substituting the sausage for kielbasa. Yes to anything crock pot AND Mexican. Missed you girl! :)

  23. I keep meaning to text you that I bought that snap pea crispy things you shared with your salad. SOOOO good. I might have to try the oopsie bread. What's the advantage to regular bread? We make burrito bowls at home a lot. You can make them really healthy and so yummy. We often mix greek yogurt and saracha for a spicy sour cream type sauce. Now I'm hungry!

  30. I'll miss reading along with this linkup but totally understand how busy life can get! I've never heard of that bread but it looks really, really good! And I don't really care for sausage (unless it's the breakfast kind, haha) but that chicken sausage actually sounds pretty good to me! I'll have to see if I can find it at Target next time!
