The Blogger Made Me Do It.

We're playing the blame game today. I know, rude huh? I bet it's safe to say we've all gone out and bought some stuff that we've seen on other blogs or vlogs. Maybe eyed some things then finally went for it. Raise your hand if you're with me here. I'm sharing a few things that I'm guilty of buying because other bloggers shared their love for them. These are all things that I'm certainly happy I went for. I know there's more, probably a TON more, but these are just a handful of the items and who exactly is to blame. I'm coming for ya!

Item: Essie Find Me an Oasis
Blogger to blame: Carly- Carly Blogs Here
Honestly, I'm not a fan of blues & greens on me usually. I'm a pink & red girl. I like them on others, just always feel weird when I wear them. This one however is different, it's so light and I just love it.

Blogger to blame: Amanda- Meet @ The Barre
I'm a total chapstick addict, I put it on a bazillion times a day. I love this one, it's light and the hint of eucalyptus is so refreshing.

Item: May Books
Blogger to blame: Meghan - Champagne and Suburbs
I kept seeing these and countless times created one and added it to my cart then I'd tell myself "You do not need another notebook." Then they had a 50% off sale and I grabbed 2. They're so cute and convenient to keep in my purse. One is my bible study notebook and one I use for all kinds of stuff.

Item: Rimmel lip liner in Eastend Snob
Blogger to blame: Karly- Miss in the Midwest
This is such a great pink nude liner, you really can use it with almost anything.

Blogger to blame: Shay- Mix and Match Family (here & here
Mod About You reminds me of Essie's Fiji, but I like this formula better. It lasts longer. Such a perfect milky & bright pink shade for summer. The WEN mask is seriously amazing, it makes my hair so soft & shiny. I need to get more, I've been hoarding my last little bit for a while now. She did a hair mask experiment and this was her favorite, I can see why.

Blogger to blame: Jen- IHeart Organizing
I know you know what I mean when I say that trying to find the perfect lighting for your blog pictures is a constant struggle. I work full time so when the lighting is best, I'm not home to shoot anything. Jen shared some photography tips here and this kit was one of them. I thought for under $60 it was worth a try. Definitely!

Item: Target Bodycon skirt
Blogger to blame: Amanda- Meet @ The Barre, again...
When Amanda first shared this on Instagram, I was immediately in love with it. I just kept thinking about it. Then she shared it on her blog, it's only $19.99 people! Had to have it, clicked purchase right away.

And one more perfect example- Biana from B Loved Boston shared this self tanner last week in her May Favorites, I bought it yesterday. I will be trying it this week but I've seen nothing but positive so I doubt I will be disappointed. I've had the worst time with self tanners. I like foams that can be applied with a mitt, they work best in my opinion. A couple I've tried, I liked the color but they either didn't last past a leg shave or you have to wash it off after an hour or so. Who has time for that?
Have I ever caused you to run out and buy anything?
(sorry...)

PS- I shared some makeup tips for a 5 minute face last week over on my friend Becky's blog, Olives 'n' Wine. You can check it out here.

  3. I blame you for the lighting kit because it's amazing!! I'm so happy I bought it - so thank you!! I sure do hope you like the self tanner - my recommendation is applying it and then waiting a day and applying it again...so like i did it on tuesday and then again on thursday and it was the perfect shade on Saturday for the wedding I went to! :) xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  4. I love the concept of this post, so fun! I have the same lighting kit but am guilty of not using it as often as I should. I know all you girls have convinced me to purchase numerous things - I can't even think of one off the top of my head, probably because there's been too many!

  6. LOVE this idea for a post!! I've definitely bought way too many things thanks to bloggers... but I kind of love it :) Essie's Fiji is one of my faves but I agree with you on the fact that it doesn't apply the best - definitely going to check out Mod About You instead!

  16. Pretty much any beauty purchase I've made in the past year has been because of a blog! There have been quite a few that I've bought because of YOU! My favorite is the Covergirl foundation. And I just bought some baby lips last night! Can't wait to try it!

  17. Hahaha I love this! I blame Amanda for so many of my purchases. Girl needs to stop sharing so many amazing things! ;) I've gone back and forth about a lighting kit but still haven't taken the plunge. I probably should though!

  19. Fiji is one of my favorite nail polishes, but I don't have the patience for it most of the time. I love Mod About You too! You should try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Vapid, it's similar and so much easier to work with. I started subscribing to Ipsy because of you. I saw your bags every month and was like, "Hey, I want that too!" I'm loving it so far! I just ran out of chapstick (I'm an addict too) so I might grab this baby lips one on my way home. Loved this post!

  22. I am constantly buying things that I see on blogs!!! I have been going back and forth on that Jergens tanner after seeing a few bloggers I trust post positive things. But one person..I cant remember who...that I usually take recommendations from hated it so I am on the fence. I need to hear your thoughts too!

  23. OMG, I love this post and your purchases so much! And I'm so glad you share my obsession with May Books! Your Instagram made me go out and buy nail polish today, so yes, girl! And a lip liner for sure you posted about once I went and picked up and loved it. I find having a blog sometimes makes me spend so much money when I see fun things on other blogs! xoxo

Girl you know I am very thorough so if something is making my list I have tried 10 others. Isn't that chapstick amazing??? I actually just swiped it on a few seconds ago, minty perfection! 37. Ive bought several things because of bloggers suggestions, from books to makeup haha!

  38. My list of "bloggers/vloggers made me buy it" is about a mile long haha I so feel your lighting struggle. South Florida is so up and down in the summer with rain, so natural sunlight is not reliable. I have soft boxes (ehh they're okay), I have table top lights (ehh ok) and I have a ring light for face shots which is great, but not enough for product shots. If only there was one light that was amazing and 100% to work, I'd so buy it! lol
