Pure Ice & Breast Cancer Awareness.

As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Although I have not been personally affected by breast cancer, I know people who have. As a women, it's something that is often on my mind.  Pure Ice recently contacted me to see if I'd be interested in creating a mani with their Pink Lady collection and I knew immediately it was something I wanted to be a part of. Creating a mani that could potentially help spread awareness, sign me up.

Pure Ice Pink Lady

I was so impressed with the range of colors in this collection, pink is my favorite color after all. I'm a fan of their formula as well, I used only 1 coat of each shade. That is fantastic.

Here is what I created:

Pure Ice

Colors used:
thumb/pointer/pinky : Pretty in Pink
middle: Love then Spit Fire Glitter on top
ring: Satin Ribbon
awareness ribbon: Girly Girl

Pure Ice

Surprise! They offered to give one of you a full set as well! I'm making it really easy for you too, all you have to do is comment below telling me which shade you think would be your favorite. That's it! (Leave your name and email address for contact purposes IF you aren't commenting through a blogger or google account) *Giveaway open through 11/6/14, US only.

Bonus entry* Repin the mani image I pinned on my Pinterest this morning and leave a separate comment letting me know you did. Let's spread this awareness manicure!

What shade is my favorite? SPIT FIRE! Glitter, for the win.

Interested in more Pure Ice polishes? You can find them for under $2 at Wal-Mart. I actually own a few of them myself.

Disclosure- I was sent this product and was only asked to create a manicure. All thoughts, opinions and mentions are my own.

{Only Pick 1} Scent Edition.

It's the final post in my Only Pick 1 series, sharing a few scent favorites with you today. These are things I either A) continue to repurchase or B) have fallen so head over heels in love with that I'd commit to them and only them, for all time. That's true love friends.

Previous posts Face || Eyes || Lips

Remember, I'd LOVE to see your all time faves so please feel to use this series anytime you want!

Favorite Scents 2014

I'm someone who uses lotion, then a few sprays of body spray all over my clothes/hair then perfume on my wrists and neck. (Am I alone here?) I'm always told I smell good, so hopefully people aren't lying... Anyway, I'm on my 3rd bottle of this stuff. It's the perfect soft girly scent to accompany my perfumes. Sometimes I spray a little on myself after a shower too.

I almost didn't even smell this when I first visited the store earlier this year. I normally do NOT like rose scented anything. Something about this product, it just makes my showers feel luxurious. I love them smell and it's so softening and moisturizing! This will always have a home on my shower rack.

I first became familiar with this from Jaclyn Hill. She raved on and on about it. I immediately knew why, it was love at first smell. Dustin surprised me with it for my birthday and we both love it. It's now my go to date night perfume, so feminine and sexy! I save it for date night because it's not cheap. Dustin normally says my scents are "old lady like" so for him to love it too means it's a big win. Another weird love, rose and floral scents are never my picks. I'm either changing or these 2 products are just out of this world? Maybe a little bit of both....

Rollerball | Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Noir (not online, fail)
I always take a rollerball when I travel. It's much easier, takes up less space and a safer call over a bottle of my expensive perfume. This perfume fragrance from VS smells heavenly and it's always the one I grab for. Long lasting and it never disappoints.

Leave it to me to run out mid series and toss it in the trash without thinking... Time for a B&BW run! Anyone else a fan of the body creams from Bath and Body? I am all about thicker lotions and these are great. This scent is another soft feminine smell that will never get old.

I've learned something about myself today- I'm definitely all about the feminine scents and apparently I'm more a fan of floral-y than I thought...

What is your #1 body product?
Do you travel with rollerballs too?

{Only Pick 1} Lips Edition

Time for the lippie edition of my Only Pick 1 series. This week and next week (scents) are going to be a little bit different. I changed up the categories a little because they were a little bit harder. I needed more categories people! Plus, it's my series so technically there aren't any rules right?! #perks

What shades do I tend to go for? Browns & mauves are my comfort zone but I love a good bright pink lip in the summer. I've yet to really go for deep reds, but I plan on conquering that fear soon because I definitely love the look.

Favorite Lip Products

Lip Scrub | elf Lip Exfoliator
I've tried a lot of different lip scrubs, to me they're all the same. Therefore, I'm a fan of the $3 elf one. I use it about once a week. I dampen my lips, exfoliate and wipe it off with some warm water and a washcloth or cotton pad. Voila, a soft kisser!

Gloss, just need something on my lips | NYX Butter Gloss
I LOVE the NYX butter glosses, all of them. Not really for the color because they really aren't super pigmented. I love these for the times I'm very casual and just want a gloss with light color on my lips. These are my go to. The are so creamy and not sticky at all. Plus, only $5.

Gloss, favorite color | Buxom Lip Polish in Gabby
This one is my go to gloss when I color and oh how I adore it. The Buxom glosses are awesome! They are on the stickier side, but not in a bad way at all. It's hard to explain... They last a good amount of time on me too. This is a mauve tone gloss and it's perfect for a great pop of color but not too intense.

This is my "if I could only pick 1 lip product period" product. All the beauty blogs I've read and the YouTubers I've watched, I've never seen one person talk about this. I'm on my 2nd tube of it and I will continue to repurchase. Honestly, I feel like the pictures just make it look like another nude lipstick, but it's not. It's the perfect mix of brown and mauve. It's my "your lips but better" shade for sure. Can you tell I'm a fan?

Ah ha, bet you weren't expecting that one?! You thought I'd say EOS huh? Well, I do enjoy my EOS balms, especially Sweet Mint, but this has been my favorite since I was a teenager. No major reason, it just works best for me and I buy in bulk. We're a house divided. Dustin - Chapstick brand / Mia - Blistex Brand. We each dislike the other brand too, weird huh.

MAC lipstick Buxom Lip Polish

Next week I'm sharing some of my favorite body product scents that I'll always repurchase.

Photo Dump | Life Lately + #PRAYFORMAYBERRY

Because of the fact I've cut back a little on posts and haven't really had any Five on Friday or Weekending posts lately, I thought I'd share a few photos of what I've been up to lately. I will still be linking up here and there though!

Here's a little of what I've been up to and enjoying the last few weeks...

Photo Update

Lots of hubby/fur child time, she owns us.

Lots of concerts, 3 in a week and a half-

Joined Fabletics & loving it. Also, killing it and loving training!

Way less stressed, doing things that are definitely good for the soul.

BEST girls night ever, celebrating Jen's dirty 30.

Spent some time with grandma celebrating her birthday. How cute is she?

Some sweet friends of ours had special shirts made for us, love them!

{Only Pick 1} Eyes Edition

We're back for the 2nd edition of my Only Pick 1 series, talking about eye products today. You can check out last weeks face edition here

I had a lot of comments last week about this series, I would LOVE to see your favorites! You should join in sharing your Only Pick 1 favorites too.

Lorac Makeup
Brow Gel

Mascara | L'Oreal Voluminous
Any of them, honestly I've never tried a L'Oreal mascara I didn't like. They're one of my favorite products from the drugstore, L'Oreal knows how to make a good mascara.

Shadow Palette | LORAC Pro
When I travel, this is the palette I pack. It's the perfect mix of matte and shimmer shades, great for so many looks. These shadows are so soft and highly pigmented. I own and love all the Urban Decay palettes too, but the Lorac one takes the cake for me.

Eye Primer | LORAC Behind the Scenes
You receive this when you buy one of their palettes. I fell in love with it and will definitely repurchase. I used to be a fan of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance but I was noticing it creasing. This never creases on me, ever. I want my shadow look to last all day, this does the trick.

Eye Liner | Urban Decay 24/7
Creamy, pigmented and lasts all day. Exactly what I want in a liner. I've received several of these in my Ipsy bags and I've bought one of the duos in black & brown. I use them every single day!

Brow Product | Benefit Gimme Brow
I did a whole post on this product. Gosh I love it! Once I started actually paying attention to my brows, I never looked back. I feel like when my brows are done, my look is more complete, it helps to frame my face. During the week when I'm getting ready for work, I want to accomplish this in little to no time, so this product is perfect for that! A couple little swipes and my brows are darker, shaped and will stay put.

Those are all of my favorite eye products, the ones I would have no trouble committing to for the rest of my life. Join me next Tuesday for the next edition in this series, LIPS!

You can find me over on Karissa's blog tomorrow sharing some of my favorite fall nail polishes that I think you need to know about.

Are any of these products a favorite for you? What are some of your all time favorite eye products?

{Only Pick 1} Face Edition

Last week I mentioned I'd be back Friday for an announcement on a series I'd be doing in October. Late Friday afternoon I realized I completely forgot to edit it into my Stress Less post. Fail.

Oh well, surprise! I'm doing a fun little series each Tuesday for the month of October. It's called Only Pick 1 and will include a Face, Eyes, Lips and Scents edition. I'll be sharing my absolute, holy grail, must have favorites for each category. The products I would pick, if I could only pick 1...

As you can tell by the title, first up I'm sharing my face picks.

Favorite Face Makeup

It has never failed me. I have huge pores & it magically makes them appear smaller for a while and that makes me happy. It keeps my makeup on all day as well and doesn't cause any extra oil on my already oil prone skin. Therefore, it's my winner.

This foundation is awesome. Seriously. I have very oily skin so I always prefer products marketed for that, the "matte" products. Sometimes though, they can be a little too matte, hard to spread evenly on your face. This foundation is like a perfect mix of a super matte and a normal liquid foundation. It leaves a beautiful finish. Plus, it's a drugstore foundation so it's under $10! I like this more than my old favorite, the MUFE Mat Velvet +.

I feel like I've tried most all of the concealers that exists on this earth. For some reason they all crease on me. NOT this one. I apply this with a Beauty Blender and it does not crease at all, not even a tiny bit 12 hours later. If you have a creasing problem like I do, you have to try this out.

I'm probably on like my 10th one of these, I love it so much. Again, mattifying but not over mattifying. It's under $5 and I've never found a product that beat it. I apply this with a big kabuki brush over my foundation to set it. LOVE.

The blush category was the only one I really had to think about. I have several that I reach for often, but I really wanted to pick a favorite based on great pigment but affordable price. YouTube beauty guru Ingrid (missglamorazzi) turned me onto this about 2 years ago. I usually go for peachy pink tones and this one is exactly that. I prefer a higher pigment blush too, this is one you don't have to work very hard at achieving a perfect pink cheek.

This is really popular in the beauty guru world, I know why. I received a sample in an Ipsy bag a long time ago and was hooked immediately. I bought the full size on Hautelook, which it's often on. I just can't find anything that compares! I use it to highlight my eyes sometimes too, so it's a good 2 in 1.

Alright, there are the face picks I adore. Next Tuesday, I'm sharing the eye picks I'd commit to for a lifetime!

Are any of these your favorite face products too?
What are some of yours?

Stress Less.

Stress. We all deal with it. Whether it's big or small, it's real. It's a problem.

Over the last year, basically since Christian's accident, I've been extra stressed and felt like I didn't know how to deal with it anymore. I developed horrible acne in my chin/jawline area that no matter what I did, it wouldn't go away. Over the last few months, I started experiencing anxiety for the first time in my life. I knew that all of this was a result of stress and that I needed to make some changes if I wanted things to be different.

First, I sought help with my acne. What I already knew was confirmed, hormones and stress were exactly what was causing it. I'm now on a few natural supplements that should help me out.

Next, I identified and made a list of exactly what was causing me stress and what I needed to do to change it.

Then I made a list of things that make me happy and/or relaxed. Things that I've either not been doing enough of, or need to focus on more. Here is what that list looks like-

-LifeGroup with my girls
-Bible study & attending church
-Spending Sunday to actually relax, at least a little
-Sipping coffee & watching an old favorite movie
-Baking on weekends
-Patio dining & more dates with my love
-Working out
-Blogging, when I feel inspired

I vowed to really focus on these things, for me and for my health. Not to sound selfish, but we don't have kids yet and this is really our time to do things for us. One day that will change, but this is where we're at right now.

So what does this look like for me? What has changed or is changing in my life?

Blogging less. I love blogging, but sometimes it's just too overwhelming when you work full time. I know we can all relate to this. I decided to cut back to twice a week, sometimes 3. Guess what, I finally feel like I found my balance! It freed up so much time and I feel like I've fallen in love with blogging again. After I made the change, I came across this article. I thought it was interesting.

Less phone time. I can't tell you how many times recently I wanted to throw my phone out the window in a fit of rage. Sometimes, you need to just disconnect from the world. Try it, gosh it feels good.

Letting things go. I used to feel like everything had to be done right away. I've truly let stuff go, around the house especially, and it feels amazing. Of course I still clean my house, but I'm not obsessing over it. I get little things done in the mornings before work, which means actual free time on the weekend.

Saying no. This can be hard, a tricky one. You never want to hurt someones feelings but sometimes you just need to say no. Example: A wedding or baby shower of a friend, you should probably go, it means a lot to that person. A party during the week that you'd love to attend but you'd have to rework your schedule or will cause you some extra stress, you should probably say no. Nothing wrong with that, honestly they should understand.

Spend more time with people I love. Extra quality time with Dustin, my besties and my family. The people in my life that truly make me happy.

Now, I know that this may seem silly to some, but I can't tell you how much happier, relaxed and balanced I've felt these last few weeks. I'm sharing this with you all because I know I'm not alone. I know we are all busy & stressed over the typical things life throws at you. Let some of it go. Make a few changes for YOU if you need to. I promise you, you'll be a happier person.

What is something you could change/cut back to de-stress your life a little?

Monthly Favorites | Sept 2014

Morning friends, and hello October 1st. Here we are for another Monthly Faves post. New here? Kelli and I host this on the first Wednesday of each month. A place to link up and share everything you were loving the previous month. Here are some of my previous posts:

Make Me Up Mia

So, what was I loving in September? Spoiler, not very much. My list is rather small this month...

This Lip Product:

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in the shade Berry Smoothie has been living on my lips. I love the creamy & moisturizing formula of these and this shade is just the right amount of color for everyday use. Plus, it's drugstore. Score.

This Bag:

I stumbled across this bag while checking out at Payless Shoes. It was $22 and I had to have it. I feel like it's the perfect bag to add a pop of leopard to a casual outfit this fall. It's not online, and it was on sale. Run, don't walk.

This Hair Product:

I got this Shine So Bright when I toured the new Lush in Tulsa back in February. It kind of got lost in the piles of beauty products I hoard have. Well, it now lives on my counter and I'm using it often. It's a small tin, a balm that you rub on your fingers and smooth through the ends of your hair. It's amazing and I'm in love with it! It makes your hair so soft and shiny, my friend comments on my hair every single time I use this. It's under $10 too! Next time you're in Lush, get some, you won't be sorry.

This Necklace:

I found this necklace thanks to Emily, and I am so glad I did. I clicked straight from her post and bought it from the Etsy store she shared. I love it! I had my eye on the KS one forever but never would take the $80 plunge. When I saw this, for $18, I went for it. I've been wearing it often. There are other colors available too.

I can't wait to see what YOU all have been loving this last month.

I'll be back Friday for some real talk about stress and to share a new series I'll be doing every Tuesday in October. See you then!
