Goodbye 27!

Friday is here, my last Friday as a 27 year old. Tomorrow I turn the big 2-8. Crap, I have 2 years to go before I turn 30. I better start marking things off my 30 by 30 list! Skydiving is on that list now, it may take me 2 years to get the nerve…

It's been a pretty good week, 4 day weeks are the best. I'm really looking forward to the weekend though, more on that below.

Kristal and I both ordered sushi for the FIRST time! I know, I know. If you remember my weird seafood issue, you know this is huge. I don't eat any seafood simply because it freaks me out (and yes I'm moving to the beach) but I'm working on it. I've been trying things and after tasting my husbands sushi a few times, we went for our own. I am kind of to the point where I enjoy the Hanson roll at our fave spot. We're big girls now…

If you follow Jordon then you know she recently opened up her online boutique, Blue Avenue. I was so excited to win a $20 gift card to her site. I'd been trying to make up my mind on what I wanted, I went for this top, so cute!

I did a summer nail collab with Kristen over at Your Beauty Fix. It was fun and I enjoyed sharing a couple of my faves. Make sure to go check it out if you need some nail inspiration!

I had been wanting to try out the Benefit the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine powder for a while, this shiny girl needs all the help she can get. After Becky recommended it, I decided to go for it. I am still testing it, the verdict is still out!

Last but not least, my birthday weekend is here! Tomorrow I get to spend the day with my girlfriends then Dustin has a surprise dinner planned for me. All I know is I have to wear a dress and be ready by 5:20 pm. I am so excited to spend my birthday with my favorite people, we have a fun day planned. I will be back recap it all on Monday!

What are YOU up to this weekend?

{Thankful Thursday} 5/29/14

Time for a little Thankful Thursday, sharing a few things I've been thankful for this week.

We'd love to have you join in with us, it's about finding things in your day that you're thankful for, big or small

-Make sure you visit my co-hosts-

My Mama. (Not sure why this pic is so grainy) Mom had to fly out of Tulsa last week so she spent the night with me. Thankful anytime I get to see this pretty lady.

Free birthday gifts from Sephora. Always love free makeup! This years gift is a lipstick and mascara from Make Up For Ever. Anytime tried it?

Family. My in-laws spent the weekend at our house. We really had a wonderful time. We thoroughly enjoyed the weather Saturday night with some patio dining at our fave spot.

Memorial day with friends. We spent our rainy day over at Kristal and Roberts hanging out, watching a movie and eating way too much. It was perfect. Hot dogs, baked beans, chips and brownies were on the menu, YUM!

A gorgeous sunset. I stood out on our back porch in awe of the pink glow in the sky. So beautiful.

My Household Must Haves.

Today I'm sharing some different favorites with you, a few of my favorite household products. I'd love for you to share some of yours with me, I love finding products that work and that are time savers.

-Downy Unstopables are amazing. I always use these in a load of towels or sheets. When I use them on our sheets, they make our entire room smell amazing. Worth the splurge!

-Candles, specifically Bath & Body Works candles. Leaves is my all time favorite one. Who doesn't love a yummy smelling house??

-Meyer's Dish Soap in Honeysuckle. Do yourself a favor and buy this next time you're at Target. Even Dustin loves it!

-Plink. When your garbage needs a refresher, I recommend these! They leave a nice clean lemon scent.

-Clorox wipes. For years, we've bought these in the multi packs. I keep them in the bathrooms and kitchen. A quick wipe down of the sinks, toilets and the counters and you're all clean + disinfected. These are so handy to me!

Now tell me, what is a must have in your household?

Pinterest Food Love.

We all love Pinterest right? Each week when I meal plan, I search through my Main Dish board and find a new recipe I've pinned and want to try. I have found a lot of keepers on there, I wanted to share a few of our faves with you today. These are recipes I've discovered via Pinterest that we've tried, loved and are keepers in my recipe index for sure.

{Five} Oatmeal Lemon Cream Bars (Oh.My.Yum)

You can follow me on Pinterest here. I pin, a lot.

Real quick, I received the Warrior Dash pics Friday from the race, wanted to sneak those in. My face is priceless, it was some COLD water!

Five on Friday + TIU Giveaway!

Happy Friday ladies- It's Friday + a 3 day weekend is ahead, this makes me pretty happy. It's going to be a good day…. Perfect ending to a great week.
We drove to Denver for a night to spend time with friends and family celebrating a friend and his college graduation. It was a quick trip but we had so much fun. Once we got there, we went and rode the Alpine Slide, it was a first for me and so much fun. We had to do it again! It was such a good trip.

I got it! If you remember, I put this on my birthday wishlist. My mom gave me some birthday money early and I had a 20% coupon from Beauty.com, so I went for it. I just got it in this week, but I will definitely plan a post about it once I've used it for a little bit.

Dustin started a new job this week. Well, he actually went back to work at the machine shop he used to work at. He tried to stick it out at his other job until we move, but the 12+ hours everyday, Saturdays and lately Sundays, getting up before 4am each day plus other stuff there was not worth it anymore. He was exhausted all the time, had zero time for life and was miserable. This week has already been AMAZING. We are on the same schedule now and I feel like I have my husband back.

We ran the Warrior Dash Saturday morning. We had a lot of fun! A few people have asked me about it and what I thought. You can look at their website here and see all of the obstacles. We had fun and I would do it again, it wasn't hard to me at all really. If we didn't have to hit the road right after, we wanted to do it again. Now obviously you would need to be a little prepared for it, but if you are active and workout semi-regularly at least, you could definitely do it! Dustin did Tough Mudder last year, so he was kind of disappointed with Warrior Dash but it doesn't even compare to Tough Mudder. I really want to do Tough Mudder next! I'm waiting on the pictures from the photographers, I should have some action pics soon.

I teamed up with some seriously awesome ladies for this months giveaway, which I love. I've been doing the bikini challenge with Kristal and if you want results, join in. I adore Karena and Katrina for so many reasons, I love that the workouts aren't super intense and time consuming. They work though! This is a great prize package, don't miss out. Make sure to check out the other ladies too, their links are below the pic. You'll love them too!

{Thankful Thursday} 5/22/14 + A Giveaway!

I can't believe it's already Thursday. We were off work Monday traveling home from Colorado, man does that extra day added on the weekend make a huge difference or what?! I'm excited because we get another 3 day weekend, can't believe Memorial day is here already too.

Time for a little Thankful Thursday-  Where we love finding things to be thankful for in each day, big & small.

-Make sure you visit my co-hosts-

Weeknight Takeout. For some reason we never eat out during the week, we usually save it for the weekends. I'm thinking we need to have a weeknight takeout night more often, it was glorious. I opted for Planet Sub and he wanted Chinese.

Perfect Moments. In this moment, I was riding the ski lift up the mountain in Denver with my love. We were in a beautiful town, on a gorgeous day, surrounded by God's beauty and there with our favorite people, our family. I just felt blessed.

Ice cream. Yup, you will probably see this a lot on my blog. I love ice cream and it sure does make my day. We got Dairy Queen on the trip home. Strawberry Shortcake Blizzard for me, Peanut Butter shake for him.

Saving Money. I grocery shop at Target and oh how I love it. #1- It's always clean and quiet, it makes grocery shopping actually enjoyable. #2- Doubling coupons, Cartwheel and 5% off with the REDcard Debit card! I love it. I saved over $30 this trip, yes please.

My Fur Child. You see a lot of Pixie here too, sorry not sorry. Just look at that face! She stayed at grandmas while we were gone, I was so happy to have her back. She watches me get ready every morning :) I have to stop and snuggle often.

Last but not least, you all know I have been participating in the Tone It Up Bikini challenge recently. I've loved these girls for a while now and I absolutely love their workouts. They are simple and quick, but effective! I'm so excited to be teaming up with several other great women to share this Tone It Up giveaway with you!

If you are looking to make a slight change towards a healthier lifestyle with yummy recipes, supportive women and workouts you can do from home, this could be your plan! Dear MAC, I love you.

If you've been following me long enough, you know I love a good mix of high end and drugstore beauty products. When it comes to higher end makeup, you can't go wrong with MAC or Benefit in my eyes.

Today, I'm sharing my favorite MAC products. Theses are all the products I have either repurchased or will be repurchasing.
{one} Eye Kohl in Teddy- This is not just a brown liner, it's gorgeous and has a slight shimmer to it. It really makes my green eyes pop!

{two} Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly- I love layering this on top of an eye primer, it creates a perfect canvas for your eyeshadow. It definitely has staying power too.

{three} Pro Longwear Concealer- After seeing all of my YouTube gurus rave about it, I finally decided to try it. Never going back, best under eye concealer EVER.

{four and five} Eyeshadows in Satin Taupe & Sable- I'm now on my 2nd package of both of these, they are 2 gorgeous colors ladies. I love my browns and neutrals! Oh, and I read Kyle Richards (RHOBH) loves Satin Taupe too ;)

{six} Lipstick in Midimauve- I'm not sure what made me go for this color a while back, but I'm so glad I did. This is my perfect neutral mauve shade, that I can wear all year around. I love it. I talked about it here in my lip love post.

Do you have a favorite Mac product? What is 1 of your favorite high end brands?

What's In My Purse?

If you read my Five on Friday post a couple weeks ago, you saw that I scored this cute Steve Madden bag at Ross for $39. I love it! As I was switching my stuff over to it, I thought I'd share all of my favorite things that I always carry in my purse. I love reading these posts, so why not? Disclaimer- I'm a neat freak, you'll see... It's reflected in my bags too!

Lately I've been carrying some Dasani or Crystal Light drops in my purse, I like something fruity every once in a while. Of course my wallet, makeup bag, planner, a note book and my pill box. I take a lot of vitamins, it's kind of ridiculous.

The contents of the inside pocket- My 2 favorite gums, pens and a little card holder that I keep all of my perk and discount cards in.

The contents of my makeup bag- All of my essentials.
My lip products rotate, depending on what I'm in the mood for. My Mac lipstick in Midimauve stays put though. Chapstick, powder, lotion, hand sanitizer, floss, tweezers, nail clippers and some hair pins are always a must.

What is a must have in YOUR purse?
