{Only Pick 1} Face Edition

Last week I mentioned I'd be back Friday for an announcement on a series I'd be doing in October. Late Friday afternoon I realized I completely forgot to edit it into my Stress Less post. Fail.

Oh well, surprise! I'm doing a fun little series each Tuesday for the month of October. It's called Only Pick 1 and will include a Face, Eyes, Lips and Scents edition. I'll be sharing my absolute, holy grail, must have favorites for each category. The products I would pick, if I could only pick 1...

As you can tell by the title, first up I'm sharing my face picks.

Favorite Face Makeup

It has never failed me. I have huge pores & it magically makes them appear smaller for a while and that makes me happy. It keeps my makeup on all day as well and doesn't cause any extra oil on my already oil prone skin. Therefore, it's my winner.

This foundation is awesome. Seriously. I have very oily skin so I always prefer products marketed for that, the "matte" products. Sometimes though, they can be a little too matte, hard to spread evenly on your face. This foundation is like a perfect mix of a super matte and a normal liquid foundation. It leaves a beautiful finish. Plus, it's a drugstore foundation so it's under $10! I like this more than my old favorite, the MUFE Mat Velvet +.

I feel like I've tried most all of the concealers that exists on this earth. For some reason they all crease on me. NOT this one. I apply this with a Beauty Blender and it does not crease at all, not even a tiny bit 12 hours later. If you have a creasing problem like I do, you have to try this out.

I'm probably on like my 10th one of these, I love it so much. Again, mattifying but not over mattifying. It's under $5 and I've never found a product that beat it. I apply this with a big kabuki brush over my foundation to set it. LOVE.

The blush category was the only one I really had to think about. I have several that I reach for often, but I really wanted to pick a favorite based on great pigment but affordable price. YouTube beauty guru Ingrid (missglamorazzi) turned me onto this about 2 years ago. I usually go for peachy pink tones and this one is exactly that. I prefer a higher pigment blush too, this is one you don't have to work very hard at achieving a perfect pink cheek.

This is really popular in the beauty guru world, I know why. I received a sample in an Ipsy bag a long time ago and was hooked immediately. I bought the full size on Hautelook, which it's often on. I just can't find anything that compares! I use it to highlight my eyes sometimes too, so it's a good 2 in 1.

Alright, there are the face picks I adore. Next Tuesday, I'm sharing the eye picks I'd commit to for a lifetime!

Are any of these your favorite face products too?
What are some of yours?

  1. You know... I've never used a primer on my face, just eyes. I should try it, the pore one sounds great. I also want to try the matte powder you mentioned - sounds like a steal!

  5. I love this post! Reading all of the reviews is great, but it's nice to see your #1 picks. I've never tried any of those products except the concealer. Definitely trying that primer after I run out of my current stuff.

  7. I absolutely LOVE this new series! What a great idea. You know how much I love Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, and I'm a huge fan of the Cover Girl foundation, too. I think I tried that Rimmel powder a long time ago, but you've convinced me to pick it back up next time I'm at the store! You can't beat NYX blushes either for the price. Love all your picks!

  8. I received the Mary Lou highlighter in my Ipsy bag as well and loved it! I actually have a slight obsession with Urban Decay's highlighter though so I stick with that one ;)

  9. I have heard great things about MAC's concealer and goodness knows that I need one. But I have this thing? Will it be pancakey like I find MAC's foundation?

  17. Thank you so much for sharing your top picks! I will have to try that concealer since I've heard so many great things about it. That blush looks pretty good, and obviously much more affordable than my NARS blush. :-/ I hope that you are having a great day so far too! :-)

  25. I absolutely adore Mary Lou-Manizer, it's such a beautiful glow! My second favorite highlight is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz, it can be intense but it's so pretty! Looking forward to next tuesdays post! xo

  26. I love this idea! I think we've established we have very similar makeup tastes but I've only tried 2/6 of these products! Once I finish up my fit me concealer I'm definitely going for the Prolongwear. I've heard enough raves that I think it's necessary!

  27. I need to try that concealer!!! Also, I was wondering about the Benefits primer...I want to try it too!

I am intrigued by the foundation, MUFE Matte Velvet used to be one of my favorites but I am not 100% satisfied with it. I haven't tried drug store brands in a really long time for foundation, perhaps I need to!

  28. What a fun series friend! :)

LOVE Benefit's POREfessional. That stuff works WONDERS. I need to buy the normal size tube...thanks for reminding me! I also recently bought that Stay Matte by Rimmel at Walgreen's, and I love it. Love that it actually does keep my face matte most of the day, and it's pretty cheap too! Can't beat that!

And girl, Mary-Loumanizer will probably be in my makeup bag for the rest of my life. It's the best highlighter that I've ever used.

  32. I'm right there with ya girl! I would totally go for my CoverGirl foundation, Porefessional, MAC Prolongwear, and Mary-Lou!! I do like the Rimmel powder, but I would probably have to go with my Clinique Stay Matte powder, and I haven't tried any NYX blushes.....whaaaat?!? Can't wait for more on this series!

  33. the rimmel powder is literally the best powder in the world. i have got to try that porefessionals stuff but its so expensive, or rather i can't get it at a drugstore lol.

  40. the porefessional and mary lou are 2 of my holy grails!

  41. I've been looking for an inexpensive foundation to try, so the Cover Girl seems perfect. I usually just use primer and Clinique cc cream, but some days I want more coverage / smoothness.

  42. I've been using the Covergirl foundation since before we left for Rwanda and it really is as wonderful as you say!
