Uh Oh, You Overslept!

We've all done it, or do it. Hit snooze one too many times, forget to set the alarm or just fall back asleep. I don't know about you, but I'm someone who doesn't leave for work without my makeup on. Whether it's full coverage or just a little bit, I've put some makeup on.

So I'm sharing what I would do and what products I would reach for if I only had a few minutes to get ready.

5 Minute Makeup

Tips.

Brrr | Splash some cold water on your face to wake your face up and bring a little color to it.

The One Swipers | Use products that are more pigmented. The more pigment the product has, the quicker you get the color payoff you want/need.

Brighten My Day | Pick products that will brighten your face or eyes up and make you look a little more awake.

Products I would grab & why.

Face | Any foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturizer. Something you can quickly apply to even out your complexion. I'm testing & loving the new Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous thanks to Joey

Stila Custom Color Blush in Sheer Pink is my blush pick. It looks scary but it's not, I promise. 1 quick swipe and your cheeks are perfect and rosy.

Eyes |  Quickly apply a neutral shade in the crease to define, then swipe a brightening shade all over the lid. Blend and you're good to go. I use Milani Bella Cappuccino ($3.99!) in the crease and Stila Kitten on my lids.

I line my eyes with one of my Urban Decay 24/7 liners. They are so smooth and glide right on, and those bad boys stay put!

I always do my brows. I use a pencil when I have extra time, or a tinted brow gel if I'm in a hurry. It frames your face and helps you look even more put together. I can't say enough good things about the Benefit Gimme Brow gel.

I also always use mascara, this definitely opens your eyes up! I'm currently using and also loving the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara.

Lips | When I have less makeup on, I love to do a bright lip. It definitely makes me feel more put together. Who's with me? I'd grab my Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in Berry Twist

The above would take me 5 minutes or less! If you have an extra minute or 2, I'd suggest a little under eye concealer and maybe a quick highlight to brighten up your face even more.

Don't even have 5 minutes? Just grab your coffee and go, you can hit up Sephora on lunch and just "test" enough of their makeup to get you through your day ;)

What would be your #1 tip or product recommendation for days that time isn't on your side?

  1. I can't go to work without eyeliner, no matter how late I'm running - it instantly makes me look so much perkier!

  2. I love this! I definitely couldn't skip the under eye concealer - that would be my dead giveaway for how much I overslept. :) Some of your products seem great - adding them to the wishlist!

  4. YES! Love all of these tips! Sadly, that's pretty much how I get ready every day now because I just can't bring myself to spend a lot of time on makeup when I know there's a possibility I won't even leave the house! hah! I'm so glad you're loving the covergirl foundation! And thanks for the shoutout :)

  5. I just always do my best to give myself enough time. But if there is an outfit dilemma, that's where I run into problems!! Haha. Thank you for sharing some tips though! I hope that you have a great day and a wonderful weekend!! :-)

  6. I literally do my makeup in the car before I go in to work (I know, so bad!) so my daily routine consists of shadow, liner, mascara, blush, and maybe a swipe of lip gloss. It takes me 5 minutes or less. On the weekends I will take a little more time and maybe even use some BB cream! :)

  7. Great recommendations! I have to do mine super quick in the mornings and the worst part is it's still dark out! :(

  8. Mascara... its the one thing I have to do if I'm running late & always makes a difference. Even when I run a race, I always have to put on mascara :)
You make me want to pay so much more attention to my brows

  9. Love your tips!! My routine is pretty quick - like 10 minutes in the morning and I think it's because of the BB cream - my staple for sure and mascara too!

  10. I need these for the days when I'm not running late too ;) No matter how early I get up, I seriously leave myself about 2.3 seconds to do my makeup! I always skip mascara during the week out of sheer laziness. Plus, I'm a perfectionist and it has to look PERFECT or I have to start over ;) Haha! I typically go with a little bit of powder and eyeliner and call it a day!

  13. I am one of those who breaks all rules and goes out in public (often) with no make-up! So bad, I know!!! I like the splash cold water on my face! haha :) Thankfully I'm up for 2.5 hours before I even start work, so I usually have time to spend 5 minutes doing my make-up! :)

  15. I recently bought a BB and it has changed my life on rushed mornings!! Great tips. I usually skip eye shadow all together, but maybe I should try this approach. L'Oreal Voluminous is my favorite thing ever. Haven't tried the butterfly one you mentioned though. Brows are always the most important thing to me. Have you tried the Revlon gel/pencil combo?? I love it.

  16. I'm like you - I've got to have my face painted before I step foot into work. If I'm running late, blush and color on my lips are my saving grace. Happy Friday!

  17. I THINK that Covergirl jumbo balm is the same one I used to always keep in my purse for this situation. It's such a great shade to throw on, especially when you don't have time to do a full face of makeup. :) Great picks!

  25. When I worked FT out of the home, this was pretty much my daily makeup routine. For me sleep was more important than a smokey eye lol ;)

  26. I love all of these! I'm also someone who can't go to work without any makeup on as well. NO WAY!
I've been meaning to try that CoverGirl foundation. Do they have a pretty good color selection? I always have issues finding the right color for my fair skin...it's SO annoying!

I think I just bought that Milani eyeshadow the other day from CVS. It's the perfect neutral base. And of course Stila's Kitten is on my to-buy list.

If only we lived closer to each other and it wasn't unsanitary to use other people's makeup...I would raid your stash 24/7!!

  34. Hello Mia! I just want to share that my sister gave me Urban Decay eyeliners a few months ago as a birthday present and I love it. The Perversion eyeliner is my most favorite because it really enhances my every day look. I didn't know that it is so pricey. My husband just told me about it because his best friend gave his wife one too. I am just a lucky to have a sister who is very, very generous! LOL! :)

  38. Your tips are so on point. I definitely had one of those mornings today - happy Monday right! Finding a BB cream that works with my skin has been such a game changer. When I'm in a super rush my default is always liquid liner and curled lashes!

  39. Hahahahahaha that cold water rinse is definitely me every morning! I love this post! Like me this morning I had about 2 minutes.....so it was BB cream, a quick swipe of bronzer and then mascara in my parking lot of my work ;-)

  40. That's basically what I do for my full makeup :-p But I can't seem to do it as quickly as you. I'm just too slow! Even when I wear nothing else, I throw on my BB cream to make my skin colors even out a bit.
