Why I Blog - A Virtual Blog Tour

Recently, my friend Nadia from The View is Beautiful asked if I would like to participate in a Virtual Blog Tour. You answer a few easy questions about your blog and then share a blogger or two that you enjoy to continue the virtual tours.

I was happy to join in and sure appreciate sweet Nadia for wanting to include me. If you don't know Nadia, you need to go check out her blog. She's a sweetheart from Canada with a love for making things beautiful. Nadia blogs about a lot of things, but her beauty posts are what pulled me in, and now I'm just hooked. Go check her out!

Here are my answers to the questions for everyone, enjoy-

What am I working on?
I would love to be working on more makeup tutorials, that is where my passion is. I just struggle with the time to create and photograph them. You should see my notes on all the looks I want to play with and share! I promise they're coming. Lately, I've just been working on sharing tips and products that I've recently found and love. I have a new love coming Wednesday, so I hope you come back!

How does my work differ from others in the genre?

All blogs differ, depending on the person behind the keys. We all have our own flare we add to our special space.

Why do I write what I do?

I started my blog to share all of my favorite products and makeup looks with anyone who will read it. I discovered the YouTube beauty world a few years ago and became hooked instantly. I'm not really a behind the camera girl, so the blog was born. Never say never though, one day I might get brave...

How does my writing process work?

When life isn't crazy, I like to take care of most of my posts on the weekend. I swear, there is nothing better than having weeks worth ready to go. I get up really early with my husband during the week though, so I have time to work on stuff then as well. I use a planner for everything so I definitely always have a week or 2 planned out in there. I keep a big post-it in the front where I jot down all my blog ideas when they come to me. I prefer using good old paper and pen, not my phone.

Ok, now I want to introduce you to 2 ladies that I adore. If you don't know them, you're definitely missing out. 1 is a real life bestie of mine and the other would certainly be if we lived near each other! Oh, and we're all fur baby mama's. It's the best.

Shelby with Recent Somethings

Shelby is a native of South Carolina and the (sometimes sassy) voice behind Recent Somethings.  Wife, mama to 4 fur children, and a 9-5’er, Shelby began this blog in 2012 with the goal of finding a little space online where she could ‘put it all out there’.  As a confessed wino, food lover, and bargain shopper, Recent Somethings is one big mix when it comes to posts.  Fashion finds one day and real-life randomness another, you never know what may pop up on this blog.  Although Southern at heart, Shelby definitely aims to incorporate diverse content for ladies all over.  You can follow Recent Somethings via Bloglovin’Google Followers and Instagram

Next up: Kristal with The Strong Family

Kristal is a wife, mother, and most importantly, a child of God. She’s a stay at home mom and new homeschool mom. She adores a good cup of coffee! She blogs about a variety of things including her faith, family, friends and more. She is a strong and beautiful women inside and out and I'm blessed to call her one of my best friends! Check her out on Bloglovin' and Instagram.

I hope you'll check out all of these sweet girls, I sure enjoy each one of their blogs for many reasons. Go take a little tour!

  10. I loved reading your answers! I know what you mean about makeup tutorials. I feel like makeup photographs so differently than how it looks in real life - but I'd love to see some of the looks you've come up with! I've been playing around with the idea of a "get the look" sort of series on my blog, but it takes some serious time to plan and execute it all!
