What Will You Own?

Yesterday I read a post from Elise that I just loved. It was about Owning it. Owning the things about yourself and your life, from big to small.

We're all different. God made us all different in so many ways. We need to own it and we need to inspire other women to do the same.

Whatever it is about you or what you do, love, enjoy or are passionate about- own it.

I'm not saying we should never change. Change can be good in some areas. If you want to change something for you, then I believe you should, but only when it's for you and not someone else. I'm a big fan of not caring what others think...

Be Beautiful.

Today, I'm sharing a few things about myself that I own. Some are silly, some are not. Some of these things can annoy people. Some are things I've more recently accepted. Some are things I have always been comfortable with. However, it's all me.

one. I'm a clean freak. I love a perfect home, I don't mind cleaning at all.
two. I'm a Hanson fan for life.
three. I'm not a big fan of reading. I enjoy 1-2 books a year if that.
four. I'm a crazy dog mom, crazy in a good way of course.
five. I can be overly passionate about my friends.
six. I love fitness & health. We get 1 life friends.
seven. Positive is the only way to be.
eight. I can only see myself with 1 child.
nine. Due to divorce and my dad later not being involved with me, marriage and children are extremely sacred to me, for more than the obvious reasons. I know what I don't want my child to feel.
ten. I plan everything - you'll find our entire week from food to workouts in my planner each week.

Your turn, tell me something you own about yourself. If this topic is something you'd like to join in on, write a post and link up with Elise

  1. This is a great post - we all need some reminders to "own it" once in a while. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I'm not a reader too. I also love a perfect home but with kiddos it's kind of hard, so I've learned to let it go a bit. I wish I was a better planner!

  3. Great post lady! I love this idea of owning it. I feel like (in my wise old age lol) I've finally settled more into who I am and stopped trying to do things because that's what other people want.

  11. Love #2!! Grew up down the street from them. I love that it is sacred for you - it should be. Praying right now that all bondage from the past will be broken off and you will have a new revelation of the love of the father has for you and He opens your heart to eventually a husband and being a mom

  12. I can relate on your feelings to children/divorce. I grew up in a volatile environment & that's why marriage is held so high to me. Anyone that calls you wife & mom will be lucky to have you!

  13. Teach me your planning ways! I'm an event planning for a living, for other people but when it comes to sitting down & doing my own life I struggle. I start out really well & then fall off the wagon! What would we do without our four legged children? My life would be so boring without mine. I'm from a divorced family as well & it's very hard. It's even hard now when Drew & I disagree on something and my point of view stems from my parents divorce & he just doesn't get it since his parents are happily married. It's like the divorce is always with you even if parents have moved on.

  15. I love the purpose of the Owning It topic. I'll have to check out Elise's blog about it. I have a friend who is also a Hanson fan for life, as well. She used to make me listen to it allllll the time. Ha! Mmmbop! Girl, I'm a crazy dog mom too. I feel like this is a trending behavior among girlies our age who have no kids. Six and seven - YES! Great post! :-)

  18. What a great point & post! In a world where it's so easy to compare ourselves to others and what other people are doing or not doing, I don't think there is anything more important than being comfortable with who you are & staying true to what you like and what brings you joy and happiness!

  20. Loved reading this! So glad you know what you don't want a child to live with; everyone needs to ask themselves that question. I'm thinking I can only have (deal) with one child too. Spoiled brats play group?? ;)

  21. Great idea! I love things that inspire us to lift ourselves and others up instead of bringing down! I'm a total believer in Girl Power! :) Is it bad that I've only been following you along for a week but I love ya already! (Not in a weird creepy stalker way) haha
I'm owning that no matter how old I am girly colors and glitter will always catch my eye and I have a secret obsession with Harry Potter.

  25. Cleaning and organizing always sound so good to me, but I just get so easily distracted I need to block off an entire weekend to get anything significant done - it's awful! Yeahhh Hanson, I just heard mmmbop on a 90s station the other day and Tyler was shocked I could still remember every single word.

  26. Right there with you on Hanson! Girl, how to you have time to plan? That's the first thing that goes out the window when I get busy. Kinda ironic, isn't it?

  27. Gosh I heart you!!! I too, know what I don't want my kids to feel like. In a peculiar way, I am so
Thankful that mark has seen me go through the hurt,
Pain, and tears that coincide with daddy wounds. I know how it hurt him seeing me so down, and I
so confident that he will be the opposite to our littles one day. Cheers my sweet, positive friend!!!! xx
