When ALL You Have is Faith.

Today isn't going to be very long and a little different, I am coming to you to ask for specific prayers for our family today.

Friday was the last day we had to try to work on finding a rehab facility for my little brother to be released to. It's a long story, but the hospital said he has to be discharged Monday Feb 10th and we are having issues finding him a place to go. We are denied everywhere due to insurance, age or his progress not being enough. It's ridiculous, this is a life we are talking about, a 16 year old boy who deserves the BEST care and a chance to get better.

My mom called me Friday at work, our dad who stays every single night with Christian in the hospital had a heart attack early Friday morning and now he was admitted to the hospital as well. So we have Christian on one floor, and now our dad 3 floors below. Our dad is doing great, he is actually a very healthy man thank God, so he was back to his ornery self the next day. He did have to have 2 stents put in and stay in the hospital a few nights to be monitored. He is doing good but now but he is on restrictions, meaning my mom is really going to be on her own for a while. They say when it rains, it pours right?

So, our Friday was spent trying to be back and forth between both rooms and on the phones ALL day trying to get somewhere lined up. Not going to lie, it was the day from hell. Yes, the hospital has a case worker who is supposed to be helping us, but that is a WHOLE other story.

Monday is here, we have no idea what is going to happen today. My family is supposed to leave today, with nowhere to go. As crazy, unfair and unimaginable as it seems, it's true.

Have you ever been in a place where the ONLY thing you can do is have faith, 100% put every ounce of everything into God? This is where we are at, and I am not saying that is a bad thing. Our God is huge and mighty, so it's comforting really. He is in charge, he will provide. He isn't going to bring us here and abandon us. It's just one more hurdle we have to jump over. We are believing we will get a phone call today from one of the many places we've called or someone who saw the most recent news story

So, today I just ask that you pray specifically for God to open the doors and lead my family exactly where he wants them to be. Please pray for my parents too, for my dad to continue to heal as well as he has been and strength for my mom to get through the next several days.

Kristal sent this to me, and man is it true- "You can trust God when everything else says PANIC."

No panic here, just faith. Thanks for your prayers! I will update this week and you can follow here on the FB page, we update daily.

*This post is from February, Christian is doing better today, but we still need lots of prayers for his continued healing. Thank you!

  1. Many prayers for your family today, Mia.

    Matthew 17:20

And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

  4. I will pray for you on this... I HATE, LOATHE, DESPISE insurance companies. They did that with my grandpa when he fell & hit his head. Insurance made us leave the hospital but no nursing home would take him because he wasn't conscious. They ended up putting him in Hospice & virtually STARVING him to death... he died a week later. They wouldn't do tests for his head due to his age... I can rant on about my hatred for insurance companies... lifting up your family for clear answers on what to do next..

  6. Oh Mia, I'm so sorry! I'm praying for your dad, Christian and your families sanity. I can't imagine how difficult this is on all of you, but God gives us strength when we ask and we are not to be ashamed of our exhaustion, but see it as an opportunity to lay it at his feet. Hugging you!

  8. I can totally understand what you are going through. We went through the exact same thing with my dad. He was in ICU for months in the hospital, and they gave us a day notice to let us know he would be released (even though he was definitely NOT ready to be). We then ran into the same problem as you - no nursing home or long term facility would accept the insurance. It is so sad and unbelievable. Thinking of you and your family. XOXO

  12. Thanks so much for sharing this. It reminds me of the verse, Psalm 119:71, "It is good that I was afflicted, because then I learned you decrees." Such a hard reality and truth but I really do find a lot of comfort in the fact that through hardship, discomfort, and even pain comes growth. That is something we can praise the Lord for! :) He is good at all times. Thankful that he provided richly for your family in this situation! Thank you so much for linking up for our coffee date today! It is a joy to connect with you on a deeper level! much love!!
