High Five for Friday!

Happy Friday loves. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. We spent ours with my brother and family in the Oklahoma City area. It was different for sure but we had a great day. Enjoyed loving on Christian a little.

Linking up today with Lauren Elizabeth for my High Five for Friday from this week.

one- I ordered my Canon Rebel and I can't wait to get it! I was so excited when I got an email from Target that their black Friday deals were online yesterday, I did not want to go out and fight the crowds. Score!

two- We had our office Thanksgiving lunch at work Tue, then we put up the Christmas decor, then we may or may not have decorated my boss's office while he was away ;) Good day.

three- Dustin and I went to see Catching Fire. We read the books so of course we were excited for this one to come out. It didn't disappoint!

four- Kristal and I went to a Christmas gathering at her church. This was our 2nd time to go, safe to say its a new annual tradition. Fun times!

five- Thanksgiving! Also, I baked a pumpkin pie to take with us and finally got to use the cutters my aunt bought me last year. Turned out pretty cute!

What was one highlight from your week?

Who are you thankful for?

I was listening to the radio on the way to work and they were discussing how people always say what they are thankful for as in their family, friends, job, etc. They said, how about you be more specific and say who you are thankful for, a specific person.

It’s thanksgiving and I am so very thankful for my little brother Christian, and to God for keeping him on this earth with us. Today our family will be spending Thanksgiving in the hospital with Christian. It will be different for sure, but I am just so thankful that Christian is still with us, that he is here to celebrate with us.

Can he eat turkey or bug the heck out of me like he normally does? No, but that is ok. I’ll take it.

It’s so easy to be thankful when things are going great, but what about when things are not ideal and you’ve been dealt an awful situation? Don’t get me wrong, we have our days. We would not be human if we didn’t. I spent half the day Monday crying in my office. It happens. I’m sad for my little brother, that he has to go through this and I can’t take it from him or help him. I’m sad for my parents, that they are now indefinitely living in a rehab center day in and day out watching their 16 year old son struggle to even hold his head up.  That doesn’t mean I give up or do not believe 100% in God for a miraculous healing for Christian.

We have to stay positive for Christian, we are his support and cheerleaders. We know that God IS healing him. It’s all in Gods timing, and we believe he is working in the lives of so many others through Christian. We believe one day Christian will stand up and give his testimony.

My little baby brother that, just like any younger sibling, drove me nuts at times. The boy who had to constantly inform me of how many Instagram followers he had.  (can't blame him, 21k is pretty impressive bro) The boy who used to cry when I wouldn’t let him in my room to hang out with my friends and I. The boy who just wanted to come up and spend weekends with me. The boy who just wanted to be loved by everyone. Today he is who I am most thankful for, my hero, the strongest person I know. I can’t wait to hang out with him again, one day soon.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, hug those near to you today!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things {Stocking Stuffers}

Happy Tuesday loves, I'm excited for another Tuesday link up today with Cheers Y'all and Down with the Dearmore's. You can see the first weeks here

Today's theme is stocking stuffers. Below are some items I love and/or would enjoy getting in my stocking this year.

-Any body spray, but I sure do love the Sheer Love from VS

-Nail polish, always a good option for a nail junkie like myself

-The Soap & Glory Hand Food has been a recent fave of mine, love the travel size

-A scarf, can't go wrong with a scarf huh ladies!

-I am really loving the idea of these Travalo perfume holders lately. I think they are an awesome idea. You simply pump your fave perfume in the bottom and you're set! Who wants to pack their big perfume bottle when they travel, not me…

For you fellow fur baby mamas out there, you can't forget about them!

A Christmas toy is a great idea for the pups, they'll love it :)

Do you have any stocking stuffer ideas? Do your pets have a stocking?

All About Primers

Hey loves, are you as bummed about the weekend ending as me? We had a super cold weekend in Oklahoma. I enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning with Dustin & Pixie on the couch in my warm fleece pj's watching tv, drinking coffee and working on blog stuff. Sunday started super lazy too, my first cup of coffee didn't happen until noon. True story. But after putting grocery shopping off for a few days, a trip to Target HAD to happen. I talked Dustin into joining me, so it wasn't too bad.

I'm excited it's just a 3 day work week though and Thanksgiving is this week. This year will be a little different, we'll be spending it in the hospital with my family and brother. I so desperately wish he could have some turkey with us, but God's healing him right now, so next year for sure!

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite face and eye primers with you. Within the last year I have really become a dedicated user and big fan of primers. I have tried several and picked my 3 faves of each.

OneBenefit The POREfessional was the first face primer I tried and I picked it based on reviews and ratings. I love it. It truly does instantly minimize your pores and helps keep your makeup on and in place.

TwoHourglass Veil Mineral Primer is my most recent trial and man do I love it. The price on this is high, there are a couple different price/size choices. I tried this after speaking with a sweet Sephora employee and she offered me samples. It's a soft satin finish and keeps my makeup flawless all day. A little goes a long way too!

ThreeToo Faced Primed & Poreless I feel like this one is very similar to the Benefit one, and they are the same price at $30. I like them both about the same!

One- Lorac Behind the Scenes has quickly became my new holy grail eye primer. A deluxe sample came with my Lorac Pro palette. I will 100% be purchasing the full size when I run out. This stuff does not crease, AT ALL.

Two- Too Faced Shadow Insurance has been a product I've loved for a while now. I love that you can buy different variations of this stuff. They have some with a tint, a shimmer, a glitter and other options which is nice. A couple times lately I've noticed a hint of a crease but I'm wondering if it's just me or a product I've used, because most of the time this stuff doesn't budge.

Three- Urban Decay Primer Potion is to me one of the original eyeshadow primers. I have used it on and off for years, it never disappoints either, however I think the other 2 are a tad bit better in my opinion. This is is still a good one though, so I wanted to mention it for sure.

There is 1 eye primer I do NOT recommend-
I got a deluxe sample of Benefit Stay Don't Stray and hated it! Which stinks because I really love Benefit products. I swear this stuff made my shadow crease worse than even with no primer on. I tossed it out quickly.

Remember, you can go to your local Sephora and ask for samples of any of these products. They want you to try the products before you purchase them so they are eager to give you samples. They have an awesome return policy too, if you don't like it for whatever reason, take it back! This stuff tends to have a hefty price tag, so you want to try before you buy.

I hope you all have a good week!

Have you used any of these products mentioned or have any other suggestions?

Happy Friday + A Little JT Love

Happy Friday loves! So, it's actually 2:30am and I am  just getting ready to go to bed. I just got home from the Justin Timberlake concert! I am so happy that I get to enjoy a vacation day and sleep in because man that was a later than usual concert. (I'm old, I'll admit it) It was such a good concert, and a FUN girls night! I loved every minute of it and enjoyed dancing my butt of with Jen. Fun times, I would definitely see him again.

Ok, onto my Friday link up with Lauren Elizabeth and A. Liz Adventures. Here are some of my highlights for the week!

One- Kristal, her kids and I took a day trip to Bethany this last Friday to visit my brother and family at the hospital. It was great to spend the day with everyone!

Two- I made these delicious cookies over the weekend for our group study. They were a Pinterest recipe I'd pinned a long time ago and just decided to try them. YUM! They were so good, definitely a keeper.

Three- Wednesday was Dustin's birthday, he turned 25. For dinner we went to our favorite sushi place here in town with some of our best friends then out for ice cream afterwards. I don't eat sushi, however I love this place because they seriously have the best Sesame chicken dish ever. It was a  great evening!

Four- Of course the JT concert is on this list ;)

Five- Before the JT concert we tried out a new restaurant, Elote. It was very tasty! I like this place because they use fresh ingredients from local vendors, I think that's pretty neat. I enjoyed some Sangria and a chicken burrito. We also split some black bean hummus and white (heavenly) queso for appetizers.

I think I better get to sleep now, my eyes are getting heavy. Hope you have a great weekend, it's going to be a freezing one here in Oklahoma, stay warm!

{Top 3} Easy & Delicious Weeknight Crockpot Recipes

Hey loves! Continuing on with my top 3 for this month, today I am sharing our top 3 easy weeknight crockpot recipes. My husband and I both work full time, so anytime I can throw dinner in the crockpot before work and come home to an already done meal, I'll take it!

Speaking of my hubby, today is his birthday. Can't wait to have a nice dinner with him tonight to celebrate!

Ok back to the food, these are a few recipes that throughout the years I have found online or been given, then I made a few changes. Like I said, they are easy. I love recipes with a short ingredients list. A super long ingredients list makes me not even want to try a recipe. I am BIG on flavor though. I season the heck out of everything I cook, flavor is not something I skimp on. So even with short ingredients lists, I promise these recipes are NOT lacking in flavor…

I apologize in advance, I only have a pic for 2 of these recipes.

This Garlic and Cheddar Biscuits recipe is just a bonus. We absolutely love these biscuits, and it's such a treat when we have them. They are a great dupe for Red Lobsters biscuits! They go great with the roast recipe, so I wanted to throw it in here as well.

You can add anything you want to these recipes, this is just how I make them. I hope you enjoy them, and make sure to let me know if you try any of them out!

Do you have a favorite crockpot meal you'd like to share?

These are a Few of my Favorite Things {My Christmas List}

Hey loves, today I am excited to link up with Cheers Y'all and Down with the Dearmore's for a little series they are doing called These are a few of my favorite things.

Today's theme is My Christmas List.

I am excited to share a few things I have had my eye on lately, my Christmas wish list. (In no particular order) I already told my hubby he will need to check out my blog this week ;) I hope he listens…

I've had my eye on this since I started seeing it around YouTube. Then I checked it out one day in Sephora. I wanted it even more after seeing how much larger it is in person. Great value!

A few years ago Dustin bought me a beautiful silver MK watch for Christmas, I would love a gold one to wear when I wear my gold jewelry, which is more often now!

Three- The Twenty-Two Polish Collection (Sephora)
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the new Formula X polish from Sephora. This is a little collection of 22 different colors from the new line!

I have been looking at cameras lately, I have my eye on the Canon Rebel T3 and T3i. We are planning a Europe vacation next year and I really want a new camera by then. My cell phone camera just won't cut it!

I have heard lots of great things about the Clarisonic cleansers and would love to try one out someday! They remove makeup better, cleanse your pores and are even supposed to help minimize pores. Sign me up!

Make sure and check back the next couple Tuesdays for part 2 & 3 of the series. I'll be sharing stocking stuffers and gifts under $100!

What is on your Christmas list this year?

Ipsy Bag: Nov 2013

Happy Sunday loves, how's your weekend been? I enjoyed my Friday visiting my family with Kristal, and our Saturday was spent hanging around our house. I could get used to some relaxing days at home...

This last week my Nov Ipsy bag came in. Of course I loved it, as always. You'll never hear me complain about it, it's such a fun and affordable way ($10) to try out new products!

Here is what I received this month-

One- BH Cosmetics Baked Eyeshadow in Eclipse. Deluxe sample. (One color from a palette, large amount though)

Two- Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in Hot Damn. Full size, $14

Three- Nailtini Nail Polish in Caviar Cocktail. Full size, $13

Four- Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched. Not sure if it's full size or deluxe sample but it't pretty good size.

Five- Em Cosmetics Lipstick in One True Kiss. Full size, $16.50. Great packaging! Em is Michelle Phan's new cosmetic line, she is the founder of Ipsy. I'm excited to try it out.

Six- Starlooks Gem Pencil in Amethyst. Full size, $14.

So as you can see, $10 is a STEAL for this bag. I highly recommend Ipsy, can't say enough good things about it! No, this isn't sponsored, I just really love Ipsy.

If you are interested in signing up, go check them out! Sometimes there is a wait list but it usually moves pretty fast.

It's Friday!

Hi loves, happy Friday! I am particularly happy today because I took a vacation day and Kristal, the kids and I are taking a little road trip to see my brother and family for the day. My husband and I go every other weekend, but I've never been during the week and been able to see them do his therapy sessions, so I am looking forward to seeing more.

Today I am linking up with Lauren Elizabeth for High Five for Friday and a few others for 5 on Friday. Enjoy!

One- Friday night all my co-workers and I went to a bonfire at my boss's house. They had an awesome spread for us with all the necessities to roast hot dogs and s'mores. We had a good time and holy cow were we stuffed!

Two- Yup! I get excited over stationary. I placed an order on Vistaprint and included these on there because my thank you card stash was dwindling. I LOVE Vistaprint by the way. Address labels, thank you cards, post its, business cards, you name it! Cheap! I highly recommend that website. I also love thank you cards, it's a gesture that I think is very special and important. I still love snail mail.

Three- Our office was closed Monday for Veterans Day and I seriously had the best day off! It started with a hot stone massage, thanks to my sweet friends Jen & Melissa. I took Dustin lunch up to his work and got to spend a little time with him. After that I went to the mall and spent about 3 hours playing in Sephora and Mac, drinking a Java Chip from Starbucks and just shopping around. Then I ended my day getting to visit baby Robert and his parents. Perfect day!

Four- Sweet Cydney and her family sent me this precious bracelet and a card signed by her family. They have been so sweet and supporting through all of this with my brother, we appreciate those prayers so much! Her mother made me this bracelet and I love it. You can't tell in the picture, but the back is lined with pearls and there is a little cross on there as well. So sweet.

Five- I got my iPhone cover that I won from To Gild the Lily in the mail this week. I LOVE it, it's so adorable. I will definitely be ordering more from her. Compared to other custom covers I've seen and even bought, $16 is a steal!

1 Extra picture I have to share..

Dustin got this tattoo last night in honor of my little brother. It's his school mascot and his football number #75. We know and believe in our hearts that Christian will make a full recovery, but due to his injury he will never be able to play football or any other contact sport again. He will always be a part of that team though, and that team will always have a special place in our hearts. #Prayformayberry

Hope you all have a fun weekend, thanks for stopping by!

A Little Outfit Inspiration

Hey loves. I wanted to share some outfit inspiration with you real quick that I had this week. I saw this image on Instagram and noticed I had everything to put it together, so I did just that.
                                       My Inspiration:

What I did with it:

Sweater- Old Navy
Plaid Shirt- Aeropostale
White Shirt- Old Navy
Jeans- Old Navy
Bootie Wedges- Toms

I always feel like I have a closet full of clothes and there are probably countless possibilities in there, I just need help sometimes. I was happy to find a new outfit using stuff I already had!

And that my friends is why I love the internet….

Where do you usually get clothing inspirations from?

{Top 3} Bath & Body

Happy Wednesday loves. Brrrr, it's 22 degrees here in Oklahoma this morning! Continuing on with my Top 3 postings every Wed in November, today I am sharing my 3 favorite bath & body products. Again, these are products I love, repurchase and feel will always be faves!

First up…
I have been using the Caress Daily Silk in White Peach & Silky Orange Blossom for years! I love the smell, it's such a soft clean smell, as soap should be of course. I have tried several and always go back to this one. Once the weather starts getting cooler though (NOW), I always pick up a package of the Olay Vanilla Winter Retreat. One package usually gets me through the cold months. I am someone who gets very dry in the winter, so I NEED the extra moisture.

Going along with the needing moisture, I am a lotion freak. I lather my hands in lotion all day long and I always have to put lotion on after my shower. I have loved this B&BW Paris in Bloom since they first came out with it, not sure when that was. You're going to hate me because this stuff isn't available right now… But, just make sure you pick some up the next time they have it. As you can tell, I need more! It smells like a high end fragrance lotion, like the type that comes with your perfume. So fresh and feminine.

I can't even tell you how much I love this VS Fragrance Mist in Sheer Love. It's white cotton and pink lily aka heaven. I can't explain it, it just seriously makes my day when I spray this stuff on. Everyday I spritz body spray all over myself then put my perfume on. Does anyone else use 2 products or am I alone on this? I'm curious…

Those are my top 3 bath & body products! Next Wednesday I am going to share my top 3 easy & favorite recipes with you all. Make sure you come back, I'm going to share this one-
It's easy and delicious!!

Here's a little inspiration for you, my nails from this week-
A little nude & black for ya!

Have you tried any of the products I mentioned today?

A Blogger Lunch + Fall/Winter Nail Loves!

Hey loves, how has everyones weekend been? Normally I would be bummed that mine is coming to an end, but I get tomorrow off too! My office is closed for Veterans day so I get to enjoy my day tomorrow with a hot stone massage, lunch with the hubby and a trip to the mall.

It's been a great weekend so far. I mentioned Friday that our dear friends were having a baby, well they had a precious baby BOY! I am so happy the little guy is finally here, and so happy for Andrew & Angela and their new little blessing.

I also had a great lunch on Saturday with some fellow bloggers. Kristal with The Strong FamilyCassie with True Agape and myself met at Panera for a girls lunch. Kristal and I were meeting Cassie for the first time. Cassie and I were both featured in an article we contributed to, that's how we were connected. We just so happen to live a town away from each other.

It was so fun getting to meet a new blogger friend, brainstorm ideas together, share resources, discuss our goals, and pick each others brains. Cassie is amazing and I know we will all be meeting a lot more in our future, I'm looking forward to it! Here are just a few key things I took from our lunch date-

One- How thankful I am to have started this blog, to be making new friends in the blogging community who understand it all and have the same goals as I do.

Two- Insecurities are totally natural. We all discussed a few of our blogging insecurities and it was nice to get confirmation that they are just that. I'm ready to punch my fears in the face after being with those ladies. That's what you need, people who understand and motivate you!

Three- It's important to step out of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to reach out to people, network, get to know people, send emails. What's the worst things that's going to happen, they don't respond? You never know until you ask/try!

You should definitely check out these lovely ladies blogs-
Kristal- The Strong Family
Cassie- True Agape

Onto some nail love….

I just wanted to share a few of my favorite Fall & Winter nails color choices with you all, a little inspiration for ya!

-Essie Mochacino-
Love this color, perfect taupe with a slight shimmer

-Essie Bahama Mama-
To me this is just the perfect dark, fall, wine color!

-Sinful Colors Leap Frog-
To be honest, I've never been a big green or blue polish fan. However, this green and the blue below I do enjoy for fall.

-Revlon Colorstay Midnight-
Yup, about the only blue polish I like…

Let me know if you have any other great fall polish recommendations!

Have a great rest of your weekend.
