Monthly Faves: July 2013

Hello loves! Whew, this week has been a little on the hectic side for me. I feel like I have a lot going on and I have been running around like crazy. I am ready for this week to be over to be honest, ready for a slow down. My August motivation has kicked in, I did a pump and bootcamp class tonight after work. It felt good! I am excited to see how I feel come the end of this month.

I can't believe July is already over, this year is seriously flying by. It's time for my July faves. These are things I've either discovered in the last month and love or just found myself reaching for often. Enjoy!

First up, non beauty faves:
-I have fallen in love with Brandon & Leah this month. I bought their newly released EP and can't get enough of it. Brandon is Bruce Jenner's son, step bro to the Kardashians, and Leah is his wife. I LOVE her voice and their music style. Check them out!
-One of my fave shows is back on and I can't get enough. As you know, I <3 Giuliana Rancic.  I love G&B because they are seriously the cutest couple ever and they inspire me, I love the way they love each other, their goofy relationship is adorable and reminds me of my hubby and I.
-Um, can we just take a minute to talk about Vanilla Chex. I bought it recently and oh my gosh, yum! It taste like vanilla cake to me, so you can't go wrong with that! There is a chocolate one too I will have to try out next. Anyone tried it?

Beauty faves time:
-I've been talking about Essie Mint Candy Apple lately. I bought it, used it and loved it. Its such a vibrant and perfect minty blue-green shade. I think it's perfect for summer!
-I have found myself using this Victoria Secret Sheer Love fragrance mist almost everyday, it smells SOOOOOO good. So fresh and feminine. VS describes the scent as "White Cotton & Pink Lily" It's one I'm definitely going to have to repurchase.
-I bought Boots Expert Sensitive Toner at Target recently and it's such a great product. It has no harsh scent to it, which I love. The main reason I bought it is because I had been using an astringent that was so strong smelling and I felt like it was burning my face. This stuff is gentle and wipes off that little bit of excess dirt/makeup that washing your face didn't remove. I'm using it morning and night. Plus, it's under $5. Score.
-NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair. Holy moly this stuff rocks. To me, this gloss is the perfect consistency. It's not overly thick or sticky, which always ends up making me hate a gloss. Hey, this one's under $5 too!

There's my faves for the month of July! I'm off to bed :)

2 Moisturizers and a Lack of Motivation

Hello loves! You all know I have been trying to find the right moisturizer for my oily skin. I am really loving the Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer, but in my quest I also tried out some others so I thought I would share my thoughts on them with you.

Ok, so above are 2 that I tested out for a little while. When I went into Sephora to get a sample of the Philosophy that lady recommended these as well. Below are my opinions and what I thought after trying them out for a period of time....

1- Shiseido Pureness Matifying Moisturizer 1.6 oz for $33.50 at Sephora
I really loved this moisturizer. It's different, not your average moisturizer. Which I feel like it almost has to be for someone who has oily skin. An average moisturizer is a thicker consistency, this one is almost a liquid type consistency. It's very hydrating to your skin, it just kind of sinks in immediately. Doesn't leave your face feeling greasy at all. Most importantly I definitely did not feel as though my face was any more oily throughout the day. No, I don't really feel that it makes my face less oily but my goal was just to find one I could use that didn't make it more oily. I wasn't using moisturizer in the mornings for a long time for that reason.
Would I recommend/repurchase this item?
Yes. This is just my opinion, as you know I always recommend trying a sample before making a high end purchase. I give it a thumbs up though :)

2- Murad Oil Control Mattifier 1.7 oz for $39.50 at Sephora
I was surprised at how much I hated this product. While reading the reviews, it seems like most everybody loved it! Not me. All I can really say about this product is I felt like I was putting Elmers glue on my face. It was super thick, not hydrating/moisturizing and it stinks. Bummer, not a fan....
Would I recommend/repurchase this item?
No, but as I stated above, it seems a lot of people love this product so if you are curious about it I would get a sample and try it out. It's just NOT for me.

I hope you find these reviews helpful if you are in the market for a new moisturizer!

Onto another subject, my recent lack of motivation. I've really been wondering if everyone goes through periods where they have no motivation like I do. It's in all areas: getting ready in the mornings, meal planning/grocery shopping, workouts, eating healthy, blogging, working, household chores, etc. I have no idea why, but once every couple months it hits me, and I hate it. It's so not me. How do you get out of the rut, and why does it exist?

I have decided that I am going to do my very best in all areas in the month of August, pull myself out of this slump and regain my motivation. I am committing myself to all my workout classes, 4 a week, and eating healthy #1. I feel so much better when I am eating right and sticking to my workouts. I've been doing ok with my workouts but not doing as good as I'd like with eating habits. I'm trying to be better at meal planning, planning healthy meals and sticking to them. It makes such a difference in the way we feel.

#2 I am making lists of everything I need to get done each week and knock them out, not sweep them under the rug because I'm feeling lazy.

I just feel like I want to ROCK the month of August. I have a lot to look forward to in the next month and it's going to be a hectic month that is going to fly by, but I want to make it a good one!

Ok, thanks for letting me share that. I need an accountability partner so putting it out there kind of helps me out a little... I'll keep you posted on how my "rocking the month of August" is going.

High Five For Friday!

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png

Good morning loves, hooray for the weekend. Hope everyone has had a great week and has some wonderful plans for the upcoming weekend. Mine includes a trip to the farmers market and a yummy dinner out. Welcome back for this weeks H54F posting!

-I got my new Origins GinZing eye cream to try. I have been looking for an eye cream I can use in the mornings, this one came highly recommended. It says it brightens and depuffs, I will definitely keep you posted!
-We had a perfect homemade pizza night with some of our best friends, it truly was the perfect way to start off our week.
-Giuliana & Bill is back. I am obsessed with Giuliana Rancic, she's definitely one of my fave celebs. I LOVE her and her hubby and their show, so I am so excited it's back on. If my hubby would agree to it, I would drive to Chicago just to eat at RPM. Wishful thinking.... Yes, in this pic she is booty popping in an adult onesie, reason #3458754 I love her.
-The hubby and I went miniature golfing, it was so fun. That is until I lost both of our balls in the water... Who builds a miniature golf game surrounded by water?
-This morning I am sitting here blogging, enjoying a rainy morning here in Oklahoma and a heavenly cup of Snicker doodle coffee. It's the little things really <3

Hope everyone has a perfect weekend!

Think Beach.

Hi loves! I have one thing on my mind lately, the beach. I have a little over a month before my Mexico vaca, and the closer I get the more I excited I am getting! In my mind I have been thinking about all the stuff I want to pack, what I will need and what my essentials are. So... I decided to make a little collage of my go to beach items. These are the items that I have with me, or on me, when I am hanging out at the beach or the pool. Pretty basic really, but I still wanted to share.

-I hope that everyone takes sunscreen with them. I HAVE to, I don't really tan unfortunately. I will be taking this Honest sunscreen with me this year.
-Obviously a good swimsuit (or seven, I may have a problem), cover up, hat, flip flops and sunglasses are super important.
-A stack of magazines is always important to me too. I have been saving my Self magazines as they come in the mail for the last several months. I'll also be taking my new Jillian Michaels book to read as well.
-Some of my beauty essentials are my my chapstick, vibrant nail polishes, waterproof mascara and some light bb cream or   a tinted moisturizer. I don't like to wear much makeup when I go to the beach. Usually nothing during the day and very light makeup at night. I am loving Essie "Boom Boom Room" and "Mint Candy Apple" for some beach-y nail/toenail colors right now!

What are some of your beach essentials?

My Week in Food & Workouts

Good afternoon loves! It's a rainy and dreary Sunday here in Oklahoma. I'm finding it hard to have much motivation today, may have to take a little nap this afternoon. Nothing wrong with a lazy Sunday right?

For the last week I have taken a picture of every meal and snack I have eaten. After I did my weight loss journey post I have had several questions about what I eat and my workouts during the week. You will see that I try to eat pretty well throughout the week, I try and balance my meals out, and sometimes I slip and don't do very well. I don't beat myself up in terms of weight, but I did pay for it by feeling pretty crappy for a day or 2 this week. I have noticed since eating better that after a day of eating bad or crappy food, my body lets me know it's not happy with me, I just feel sluggish and gross. I need to start listening to my body more! I'm just going to post the pictures, workouts and side notes in an attempt to not make this super long. Feel free to ask any questions :) Also, most mornings I have 1 cup of coffee with a dash of sugar and some fat free vanilla creamer. I drink at least 72 ounces of water a day. I didn't feel the need to photograph that each day.

Monday Workout: 1 hour Bootcamp class in the evening.
That's a turkey sandwich for lunch and a half chicken salad sandwich for dinner.
I ate half that little pack of Justin's Hazelnut Chocolate spread with my afternoon snack, I ate the other half Wednesday.

Tuesday Workout: Nothing
That's strawberry greek yogurt, sliced almonds and strawberries I had for breakfast.
Another half chicken salad sandwich for lunch.
I ate a handful of Whoppers this afternoon that I forgot to take a photo of.
I ate half of my dinner this night, we went out for a co-workers farewell dinner.

Wednesday Workout: 45 minute Pump class
Multigrain Cheerio's with strawberries for breakfast.
I ate about 4-5 Twizzlers from a friend and my burger was accompanied by some fries and a milkshake.

Thursday Workout: At home, 15 minutes of weights and 1 mile on my treadmill
Yeah, I was pretty sick today after 2 nights of crap food. I did not have much of an appetite at all. Pb&j and A Venti SKVL from Starbucks for lunch and turkey and veggies for dinner.

Friday Workout: 1 hour Bootcamp class in the morning before work
My breakfast the last 2 days has been a yummy protein shake. I make them with vanilla protein powder, skim milk and fruit, sometimes some yogurt too.
My lunch salad has grilled chicken pieces in it.
My dinner was 2 beef tacos.

So there you have it, my week in food and workouts. This is a typical week minus the 2 nights in a row of Mexican and Red Robin! We usually don't eat out during the week, but we always do at least once on the weekend. I don't always eat as many sandwiches as I did this week either, I was craving them and I found a new low carb sourdough bread that I was loving! My food appeared a little "kid-like" this week I noticed...

High Five For Friday

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png

Good morning loves and happy Friday! Welcome back for this weeks High Five For Friday, time to reflect on some of my faves from my past week.

1- We took a road trip to KS to visit family
2-Mexican food with co workers to wish one of them farewell, but it was a happy dinner :)
3-Received my Ipsy bag in the mail, always a good day.
4-Ordered the new Jillian Michaels book "Slim for Life". Sometimes I feel like I need a good pick me up or motivation. Reading a good healthy eating and fitness book always does the trick.
5-A Venti SKVL from Starbucks made my day Thursday, it was exactly what I needed and it hit the spot!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I just got home from a 5:30 am workout with a friend. It was bring a friend to class day for her Crossfit bootcamp so I joined her. I am not used to getting up that early, hoping I don't crash later! I will be back Sunday with a posting on a typical weeks worth of food and exercise for me.

Ipsy Glam Bag: July 2013

Afternoon loves! It's that time again, I got my Ipsy bag in the mail this week. I love it. I was really excited when I saw that I got the Benetint to try out. Last weekend I was thinking how I really wanted to try it out, then boom, there it was in my bag. Ipsy gets me.

Here is my July bag:
The bag this month is a hot pink clear bag that I think will be perfect for the beach and my upcoming Mexico vaca ;)
1-Deluxe sample of 3 eyeshadows. 1 from each of the Hollywood, San Francisco and Malibu palettes from BH Cosmetics. A beautiful purple, brown and bronze shade.
2-Deluxe sample of Benetint Rose Tinted Lip and Cheek Stain. Can't wait to try this stain out on my lips and my cheeks!
3-Deluxe sample Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray. I've never tried this stuff but I am looking forward to testing it out.
4-Sample size Coola Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer, another product I will be taking to Mexico with me!
5-Full Size Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt, it's not really as vibrant as it appears in the photo, I think it's a good summer shade.

I feel like everything in this bag will be great to take on my summer vacation. Well done Ipsy!

I just love getting these bags each month. You can't beat the $10 price tag. Here is a link in case you want to sign up, I highly recommend it!

My Morning & Night Skincare Routine

Afternoon loves! I've had some requests and questions about my skincare routine so I thought I'd share it with you today. This is a skincare/bedtime routine really. Call me weird, but I LOVE my nightly bedtime routine. I just love washing and moisturizing my face and getting ready for bed each night. Having a night where I don't want to wash my face never occurs because I love it that much. Something about that fresh face and crawling into bed at night, ahhh....

We'll start with my morning routine first

1- Wash my face with Purity Made Simple face wash.
2- Use Boots Expert Gentle Toner with a cotton ball. I love this stuff, it truly cleans off all remaining dirt/makeup on your face and leaves it feeling so clean without that burn or dryness of an astringent.
3- Moisturize with Take a Deep Breath moisturizer. I did a whole blog post on this and the face wash you can find here. There is a link to buy the value pack for them both in there.
4- Roll this Anti dark circle roller under my eye area. I am still testing this out, it is the generic brand to the Garnier one. I do feel like it helps a little bit.
5- Prime my face with Benefit Porefessional.
Then it's makeup time!!

Now let's move onto my bedtime routine :)

Ok, obviously the first 3 steps are the same so we will just skip on to step #4...
4- Apply an anti aging eye cream under my eyes and on my eyelids. Right now I am using Clinique Eye Cream. I probably won't repurchase, it's a little heavy/greasy for me. I can't use it during the day.
5- LIP BALM! I am an addict. The blistex has always been my fave.
6- I love to lotion up my hands and arms before I crawl into bed. I love Champneys Mediterranean Bliss Body Hydrator.
7- A couple nights a week I like to use a lip scrub, I have really been liking Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub

So there you have it, my morning and night skincare routines! Let me know if you have any favorite products or special routines.

I read this morning that Talia passed away. She was a 13 year old beauty guru who had been battling cancer. She captured the hearts of many, myself included. She was a perfect example of the way you should go through life. Even though she was battling cancer she was always happy and upbeat. No way you could look at her or watch her videos and not smile. Beautiful inside and out. RIP Talia.

Easy Summer Eye: Naked 2 Palette

Today I wanted to share an easy eye look that I have been loving recently. It's no secret I am not a morning person, I do however always have a complete makeup look before I leave the house. It's my thing. I'm always a fan of quick looks! My hair may get thrown in a bun, but my makeup is complete. What wins on a typical morning for you?

Here is the look-
It's easy and I love a good shimmer look in the summer time!

Here is what I used-

I also used Stila shadow in "Kitten" to top off the eyelid and inner corner of my eyes. This shadow is very well known for it's beautiful highlight. I highly recommend it! You do not have to do this, I just love to use this shadow for an extra pop any chance I get. If I wasn't using this I would apply that "bootycall" to the inner corners of my eyes.

And there you have it, an easy eye look great for summer. Try it out!

A nail look from my weekend-
Seriously obsessed with this color! Essie in Mint Candy Apple. Go buy it, you won't be disappointed.

High Five For Friday

Hey loves! Happy Friday. I am busy busy today before we head out for the weekend. I love visiting family so I am definitely looking forward to a weekend away and hanging out with loved ones.

I am going to be participating in a High Five For Friday blogger link up each Friday. It's a highlight of your 5 favorite things from the week. It's from The Lauren Elizabeth. If you want to, you should join in too.

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png

1- Ahhh, I discovered these Yoplait Greek frozen yogurt bars and I am hooked. I don't love Greek yogurt, I've found a few that are ok. Oh but these, yum!
2- Because I am off work today I got to sleep in! I LOVE sleeping in. It's one of the things I will very much enjoy until I have kids and can no longer do it. Ok, I didn't sleep until 9:40 but I hung out in bed.
3- I took my first bootcamp class. I was scared, nervous and intimidated to go try it by myself but I did and I was so glad I did. Something about that class being full of ripped men and women scared me! I will be returning :)
4- I signed up to try out The Honest Co products. I am really eager to try this line of organic and non toxic household products. Anyone else tried them? My friend Kristal has been trying them out and seems to really like them. I'll keep you posted!
5- We had my step mom over for dinner this week and made one of our new faves, Honey Barbecue Meatloaf. This stuff is easy to make and tastes delicious. I highly recommend it!

Hope everyone else had a great week, and I hope you have a great weekend! I'll be back Sun with an eye look to share with you.

An ABC Survey & CVS Haul

Happy hump day! Am I the only one who doesn't like that saying?? Hope everyone has had a great week so far. Tomorrow is my Friday, then we are off to see some family this weekend, looking forward to it.

I saw this ABC survey on a few different blogs, most recently Olives n' Wine so I wanted to join in. Enjoy!

A. Attached or single? Attached, married to my love for going on 5 years <3
B. Best Friend? Ok, besides my husband, dog and my bestie girl friends, I will go with my mom. I speak to her every single day at least once and I love her dearly :) We're going to Cancun in a little over a month for our first big trip just she and I, can't wait!

C. Cake or Pie? CAKE! I love both but this girl can eat some cake!
D. Day of choice? Friday. I love the feeling of getting of work on Fri and knowing I can stay up late, sleep in and have 2 days off!

E. Essential Item? Copying Becky here, I am a chapstick addict. I have one within arms reach of me no matter where I am! So. much. chapstick.

F. Fave Color? PINK, I'm 100% girl

G. Gummy bears or worms? Either, I love gummy candy, I am a sucker for peach rings.

H. Home town? I grew up in a few different places really, Tulsa and Adair, but I was born in Muskogee. Yup, and Okie from Muskogee ;)

I. Fave indulgence? Sweets. I have a sweet tooth that gets me in trouble!

J. January or July? July, I hate cold. I don't enjoy the dead heat of summer either but I prefer it over the frigid cold.

K. Kids? One day, not sure when that will be. I always saw myself with kids by 25, I'm 2 years late but I'm ok with that. We'll have 1 someday.

L. Life isn't complete without? Love and happiness

M. Marriage Date? Aug 30, 2008

N. Number of brothers/sisters? 2 brothers, one older and one younger

O. Orange or apples? Can't pick, I LOVE them both!

P. Phobias? Ok, here comes the randomness/weirdness that I get made of for often. I HATE fish. They are slimy and gross. I don't want to touch them, be touched by them or eat them. So, I don't eat fish or any seafood. I am trying to get better and try things, to be brave, but seriously it grosses me out to eat fish. Other than that, I don't really have any "phobias" And yes, I understand how weird I am for being afraid of fish. Fish and snakes are exactly alike to me, slimy and gross.

Q. Quotes? I love positive and happy quotes, I really like this one "The secret to being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the most out of everyday"

R. Reasons to smile? No way I can sit here and list all the reasons to smile. Mainly because I know that I am blessed beyond belief for so many reasons. Everything, everyone and everyday is like a gift to me. I cherish everyday.

S. Season of choice? I love the spring sunshine and temperatures, but I think I love fall a little bit more. The smells, colors, foods, holidays, etc. So, fall :)

T. Tag 5 people. If you're reading this, you're it!

U. Unknown fact about me? Ha, can we get anymore weird than the fish issue? I am double jointed in my hands, they do weird things that would break most peoples fingers.

V. Vegetable? I recently became obsessed with asparagus, I've always loved green beans too

W. Worst habit? I am a freak about organization and cleaning. I know, to most people that is a good thing, but I seriously annoy and stress myself out about it sometimes. I wish I could just tone it down a notch.

X. Xray or Ultrasound? I've never had an ultrasound and only 1 Xray, don't really know how to answer that one...

Y. Your fave food? I'm a Mexican food addict. And sweets, have I mentioned that yet ;)

Z. Zodiac sign? Gemini!

There, feel like you know me better? Go ahead, I know you want to make fun of me for my dislike of fish, I'm used to it.

Here is a little haul for you too...

I am about out of this stuff and I like it enough to repurchase. It's great for under eye dark circles. This is the first time I bought the "brightener" shade, it's more of a pink tone. I'm excited to try it.
Another product I am about out of and really like. I recently rediscovered this and I'm not sure why I stopped using it. Fyi, Maybelline products are spend $10 get $3 rewards back this week at CVS.
Wet n Wild eye shadow palette in Sweet as Candy. (Sorry it's not on their website) Just another one I had to add to the collection, the $3 price tag draws me in and they are so great for a quick look!
I've been eyeing this color for a while now, I had enough cvs rewards to get it for $1. Go me! Love this shade and can't wait to use it!

I am having a serious craving for peanut butter right now. All I can think about it my breakfast this morning...
Anyone else addicted to peanut butter? Ah, it's so good, and this one is my fave! It'll have to wait until morning though, I already brushed my teeth... Ooohhh there's another weird fact about me, once I've brushed my teeth for the night I will NOT eat anything. It's weird, but kind of a good thing for me too, no late night snacking! Ok, enough random weird facts about me, goodnight!

My favorite brow products & Beyonce!

Hey loves! The long 4 day weekend is coming to an end :( I am not ready for it to be over. It has been like a mini vacation, a GREAT one! I've had so much fun these past few days. Friday afternoon my friend and I hit the road to OKC for the Beyonce concert. We checked into our hotel, ate a delicious dinner at In the Raw, grabbed an ice cream cone and headed over to the concert. We were standing on the floor and not to far from the stage. It was such an amazing concert! I just love watching her dance, she dances non stop throughout the entire show. I have been to a lot of concerts, this one tops my list. Justin Timberlake is coming up in November though, so we'll see if she stays on top ;) Here are a couple pics from the night.
Several from the concert
Flying above us, I wasn't the only one taking a pic!
Before the concert

The morning after the concert we got up and around and went to do a little damage at the outlet mall. Not too much really, but we got a few nice things :) We were both pretty tired due to being out late and not really sleeping. You're supposed to sleep great at a nice, plush,  expensive hotel right? Not us, the place was full of rowdy, loud Beyonce fans who didn't see anything wrong with yelling and slamming doors all throughout the night. Wow, I'm old.

Ok, onto my favorite brow products. I didn't really get into doing anything to my brows until about a year or 2 ago. My mom always got on me about 2 things. My lack of filling in my brows and lack of wearing lipstick. "You just don't look complete without it!" she would say. Well, as always, momma is right. It just took me a little while to listen when it came to these 2 subjects... So, my #1 fave is this:
Surprise, another $3 e.l.f. product. Yup, another fave of mine. It's not expensive and does a great job. I get mine at Target and there are different shades for you to pick from depending on your hair color. The left side is a colored wax and the right side is a powder. I brush in the powder first, then top it off with some wax to hold it all in place. I usually use this product when I'm a little short on time. Most weekday mornings...

When I have a little extra time to spend on my brows, I LOVE these 2 products:
The Brow Wiz works great to line the top and bottom of your brows to create the brow shape and arch desired and to fill in your brows. I then use the spoolie side to blend out the harsh lines and to comb out my brows.
The Brow Duality has a shimmer and a matte highlight side. I use the shimmer highlight under my brows to give a little highlight and I use the matte side on the top of my brows to highlight and accentuate the arch.

On days that I use the Brow Wiz to do my brows I always use a clear brow gel on top to brush them hold them in perfect place all day. Any clear brow gel usually works just fine, I am currently using this one and I really like it.

Moral of the story, listen to your mom and fill in your brows. It really does make a difference!

One more thing before I go. I am obsessed with Starbucks passion fruit shaken ice tea lemonade (it's a mouthful). In the summer I could really drink one everyday, but I hate to spend money everyday on stuff like that. I saw you could buy the Tazo tea at Wal-Mart so I picked some up and right on the side of the box it tells you how much to mix with lemonade and make your own! I tried it today and it's delicious and really tastes just like they make it at Starbucks, but way cheaper and now I have 2 quarts of it in my refrigerator. Below is what I used. If you're a fan of this drink like me, or if you've never had it, try it! So refreshing :)

Product Spotlight: Philosophy Purify & Refresh

Hey loves! Happy Friday. I hope everyone had an amazing 4th this year. We went swimming, ate lots of amazing food, got sunburnt, visited with all our friends, ate popsicles and watched some fireworks. Everything you are supposed to do on the 4th right? It was a great day.

I am doing a product spotlight today on something I recently discovered and have been loving. About a month ago I went into Sephora to get some samples and advice for a good moisturizer for someone with oily skin. I know you're supposed to moisturize every morning and night, but for as long as I can remember I only do it at night. I have very oily skin and using a moisturizer in the morning before I applied my makeup only made me get oily faster. I know how important it is to moisturize though, so the search was on. I read reviews of several different moisturizers that were targeted towards oily skin. I went in to get a couple of samples, I did not want to spend $40+ on a moisturizer if I wasn't 100% sure I was going to like it. The ladies in Sephora were amazing, as always. They gave me the samples I wanted and then went above and beyond to really inform me on my skin type and other suggestions. They suggested and gave me a sample of this moisturizer and face wash.

Philosophy Purify & Refresh

They suggested the gel cleanser and said it would be best for my skin type. I have to agree. It makes my skin feel so clean, washes off the make up perfectly and makes my skin look glowing and balanced. The moisturizer is amazing. It is a gel cream, so it feels ultra hydrating and it's not thick and greasy. I hate thick and greasy! The best part, I use it every morning before I apply my makeup and my skin feels so hydrated and does not get greasy quickly like it did with other moisturizers! WIN!

Now, you can buy these separate, but I am a fan of the combo. The combo costs $43 for both full size products together. If you buy them separate, you'll pay $55. So you save $12 with doing it the combo way. If you want both products, then this is obviously the way to go!

I truly love this product, and I am so happy I found it!

Anyone with skin on the dry side, I know a lot of people who LOVE this one. It just didn't work for my oily skin.

Well, I've got to go get packed up for an overnight trip to OKC. I am off with a bestie to see this fierce female perform...

I am so excited, I have loved Beyonce for a long time and can't wait to see her tonight :)

One more thing, go read this blog post today.
Such a good reminder to us all. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a a big fan of the positive optimistic way of thinking. To me it's the only way to be. You gain nothing from a negative attitude, nothing but a crappy day.

Monthly Faves: June 2013

Oh man am I full! My in-laws took us out to an amazing steak dinner at The Hard Rock tonight. A Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes and out of this world mac-n-cheese later, here I sit, still full. It was worth it though, heaven on a plate. Is it possible to go out to a nice steak dinner and not feel full when you leave, even if you don't finish it all? We had such a great time with them! I'm pretty excited because tomorrow is our Friday and we have a pretty fun rest of the week ahead of us, looking forward to 4 days off of work and fun with friends!

This is the first installment of my monthly faves I will be doing at the end of each month. This will include beauty, scents, shows, music, blogs, movies, foods, all kinds of stuff! Just anything I have been loving throughout the month and want to share. I know, it's July now, I'm a few days late...

4 products I've been loving lately:

I tested this in Target and when I got to the car I had to go back in and buy it, ahhh I love it. It says it has olive leaf, fig milk and green tomato scents. It smells so fresh and spa like. It's very hydrating too, not a very thick lotion. You may not like it, my hubby doesn't seem to, but I can't help it!
I can't say enough good about this stuff! It lengthens, separates and gives you volume. It's safe to say I'm addicted. Especially when I wear this with my L'Oreal Shocking Extensions, my lashes look amazing.
I have been loving this scent. Confession, I am NOT good with trying to describe scents. At all. So here is what Sephora says "The One is a warm, oriental floral with modern sensuality". I just think it smells good :) I love rollerballs, they are great for traveling!
Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Acapulco
Love! This stuff lines and fills your lips. It's pretty much a big retractable lip pencil, The color is perfect for me, a berry mauve color, and I am a big fan of the Buxom "tingle". You Buxom lovers know what I mean!

I am a sucker for manly scents, they aren't for everyone but I sure enjoy them! This one is mahogany, oak and cedarwood. I can't get enough of it!

I stumbled across this recently and said "Hey that's the girl all over Pinterest with the perfect hair!" Yup, that's her. You've all seen her and her perfect hair styles. She has a blog and I am in love with it now too!

That's all I have for June faves, let me know if there is anything in there you love too! I'll be back on Friday with a product spotlight I want to share.

Hope you all have a happy 4th this year with your family and friends!
