Hi guys, happy Friday! I just got done working out this morning and now I am sitting here enjoying a nice hot cup of Snicker-doodle coffee. It's heaven in a cup.
What did everyone do for Halloween?! I did absolutely nothing this year. No candy, treats, dressing up, nothing! Didn't particularly plan it that way, it just happened. My hubby and I made chicken and black bean quesadillas and watched TV. Exciting, I know.
Here are some of my moments and pics from my week-
First off, I enjoyed lunch and shopping with some of my sweet girlfriends on Saturday. We went to Olive Garden for lunch and then an outdoor vintage market in our town. It was so fun, and so nice to have girl time with Angela, Kristal and Kim! I bought the little white table at the vintage market, it sits perfectly in the corner of our living room and I'm in love.
I made Shay's Sausage & Corn Chowder Soup one night for dinner and it was a keeper! In a quest for some new recipes, I printed this and a couple other recipes to try out on this weeks meal plan. I actually used beef for this because it's what I had on hand. This recipe was delicious, hearty and very simple.
I finished up this daily devotional with a lovely group of ladies. Recently, Kristal did a review on this book Wife after God by Jennifer Smith. After the review, she organized a Facebook group where we all discussed our reading each day. It was a great devotional, and I know I will go back and read it several times!
I was so excited and appreciative to win not 1, but 2 blogger contests this week! I won them both the same day too, it must have been my lucky day! First I won a copy of Grace Filled Marriage from Cassie over at True Agape. She runs a wonderful blog about marriage, Thanks Cassie!
Then, I won a beautiful hand painted canvas from Elise over at Cheers Ya'll. She just opened up her shop and has some adorable Christmas decor for sale, go check it out!
I am obsessing over the trees and gorgeous colors this year, more than I ever have. Not sure why, but I am. I drive this street every day to work and have watched the trees continue to change, yesterday I had to stop and snap a picture of God's beauty. Love it!
Also, have you tried these?
I've seen them for a year or 2 now and always refrained from buying them because Dustin doesn't like candy corn (WHAT?! I know..) Lord knows I don't need a whole package of Oreos to myself. I picked some up this week, finally had to taste. I honestly thought they were just so so, but then I decided to dunk them in milk. Holy yum. It's a good thing I took Kristal half the pack or I would have downed them all in 2 sittings… Is it weird to eat candy corn oreos with milk?
One more thing, I haven't talked much about my little brother recently but I want to continue to ask for prayers. Prayers for his healing, my family and that the truth will finally come out and justice be served. There is a whole side to this story that really hasn't been spoken about until this week. I'll post some links below in case your new to my blog.
(We update this daily with updates, pictures and videos)
(This is new this week, a family friend set this up and we are finally starting to speak a little about what has been kept quiet this whole time due to investigations. You can read the "What we know" section for a very short version)
Please continue to prayer for my baby brother and our family. Christian is a fighter and continues to make progress but still has a long road ahead. Our family is full of faith, but that doesn't mean this isn't hard on us. We could use all the prayers and encouragement we can get!
Thank you, I hope you have a great weekend :)
